got the exhaust on tonight and dummied up the downpipe and waste-gate. I can have one of 2 options. rocker cover OR wastegate as it is now. looks like i'll need to redo the wastegate piping and discharge piping too. Oh well its the nature of modifying cars
I forgot my camera tonight so no pics of progress. Got the wastegate pipe all done. Thanks tim for the help. Used the factory exhaust for the bends needed Got it all cut and welded up. Pretty pleased with how ti turned out really. Yesterday we cut all the ribbing out from under my spare bonnet so it could shut adn not hit the 'gate. Tomorrow I'm picking up the rocker cover gasket, I'll also have to get a booster that'll fit the prelude master cylinder. And going tool shoppping.
No progress this weekend except I bolted up the turbo downpipe and semi tidied the garage. Had a big night last yesterday and have no energy. Picked up a set of steelies too
I have brakes!!!! (Almost) Managed to get a prelude booster today and bracket for the silver one. Removed the old booster and fitted the prelude booster and m/c and all hard lines. I managed to get the front lines semi bled but couldn't find the other bottle of fluid.
Remembered the camera today so have pics of everything
'Cooler mounted
Inside of bonnet
Booster coming out
Nearly there
Got it
On the shit pile
Prelude booster in
M/c and prop valve in, got a few of the hard lines bolted up
Resivoir in and about to bleed M/C
Not much clearance but there is clearance
Oh and my rangi work light. Will be mounting it on the roof properally next weekend
Hmmm, that looks rangi enough like what sunksreens would send :P
It lowers the front fine (Probably do another inch), but backs need another 2 inches at least. Here's my car with them in lol. Handles MUCH better though
What I would do if I were you would be to use the shuttle rear shock, swap a bottom perch from a rear DA shock perch onto it and chuck the Neuspeed spring in with extended tophat about 2-3 inches. Then front keep the KYB, lop a top coil off and put 1 inch extended tophat on.
Yeah it was sunscreens who I got them off.
Or get konis for it haha :P The red sponges I had before slammed the fornt but were so soft it bottomed out everywhere. I have some extended tophats so might see how they sit on shuttle shocks. Its good the rear being higher if you need to carry stuff around though.. I'll install them once the shed is done.
Full slamage is for the silver one once I eventaully get around to working on it again
Got the brakes bled yesterday and one shock in. will get the others in and bolt up exhaust and oil lines then I'll be boosting. The tuner will be free next weekend. Finally found the right dizzy for my obd1 swap. Its only available ex a NZ new car. I found one but it had no cap or rotor screw. No biggie I have spares
It lives! Just. It wont idle unless I hold the throttle open then it'll gradually rev up. It doesn't sound very happy. I'll unbolt the exhaust and see if that makes it better. Need to get a carby 3/4 size radiator to clear the piping and then I should be away laughing.
Fitted the new filter I picked up yesterday. It is a tight fit and removing it will be fun, Have to remove the p/s pump and mounting bracket to make space.
I could paint it matt black? :P. Its not meant to look pretty as long as it works I'm happy. Besides you can't see it with the bonnet closed. The silver one will have a lot better looking bay
Got it runing well now, had the H/t leads reversed on cyinders 2 & 3. There are no extra oil leaks from the turbo line so thats good, only the weeping crank seal which is next to nothing. Tomorrow I'll get the hose for the heat exchanger and hopefully a radiator then its tuning time
Got everything back together and left it idling to get warm and bleed the radiator. The bastard cuts out. test injection pulse ok. No spark. Again. tested the dizzy and the coil was burnt out again, stole the coil out of the other shuttle and its mint now.
All back together except the trim panel.
Better drop than before, its more drivable
Dropped it off with the tuner and all going well I'll have it back tomorrow
Car is coming along great. All in all how would u say the auto to manual conversion was to do. My wagon is auto and a few people have been telling me to do the manual conversion. Either way your car is coming out great. Keep us posted once u get it tuned and running nicely with the turbo.
The hardest part was removing the awd auto box haha, Its a big boy. I wouldn't say its any harder than replacing a clutch except you have to swap a engine mount. The tuner didn't get a chance to have a look at the car today so hopefully tomorrow i'll be lucky
Got it back form the tuner tonight (Thanks jono!) Got all the fueling sorted but the clutch started slipping before he got a chance to get it in the dyno. Was a new clutch kit too. The crank seal behind hte main pulley has decided to start pissing out oil so will have to sort those out.. not looking forward to pulling this apart again but never mind.
Its coming to the Nimm scavenger hunt. Just seeing if I have the time/money to go to the track day. Its not as fast as my old b20 crx but sure as shit is more fun.

Got riday off Will be helping out with marshalling on the friday. Picking up genuine seals in the morning which should fix the oil flood. will get timing belt and W/pump done while crank/cam seal is being replaced. at least now I know the underneath is not going to rust

First cuts
Tacked them together
The rest of the cuts
All welded up
I did a quick test fit and the silicon joiner would not fit so decided to weld the pipe directly to the outlet flange of the turbo
Shes a minta!
Finishing it off
All done. Now I can keep power steering

Got some better suspension now.
Set of neuspeed race and kyb shocks have arrived. the red ones were so soft and shit.

Just need to put it back together then with a bit of luck and $$ I can get it tuned this weekend then be back in a wagon again!

You make NZ proud

There you go, two shiny things in the bay :P
I guess you could call it a sleeper?
You can just see the turbo through the gap, I still need to put the filler strip back on but I have lost the screws/bolts
he's offering me a ride a while ago but im way out of his way. hahaha. there will be more "next" times. hahaha
