Fixed all the wof issues, re blead the brakes but they are still a tad spongy. they feel good when the engine is off but the moment you start the engine it is instantly spongy. Any ideas?
Today I gave it a wash and installed new speakers and a new (to the car) headunit. Currently got it on vac and will regas it and hopefully have some a/c
Regassed the A/C and it works, Gets very cold which I'm happy with. There is a small leak around the evaporator I think, Glad I used test gas so I can hopefully pinpoint the leak with a UV light and repair it.
Readjusted the brake shoes tonight got them good, handbrake is good now, I had the back wheels up on blocks of wood to get teh jack under. Pulled the jack out and it was fine, tidied up and walked back to the car rolling towards a steel beam, Window was half closed so I couldn't reach the handbrake so it hit the post and cracked my face lift indicator. Really pissed off about that as they are difficult to get at a reasonable price. Yes I should of put the parking brake on and will double check in the future
Now I have to clean the interior haha.
Driving home and the alternator belt disappeared haha, I'll steal the alt & belt off the silver one tomorrow morning and rebuild this alt when I can be bothered. That belt will be on its third shuttle when I change it. I've lost my camera so no pics untill I find it
I saw yours as you were driving out. I didnt find where you parked the beagle. I was wondering around a bit so thats probably why I missed you. next time it will be alot lower haha
No worries I have more on my photobucket I think. They aren't ordered in any way though.
I have a few things in the pipeline so there will be a update soon
My stickers finally arrived. It was originally a bit of a joke but I think they turned out ok. Here is a crappy picture of them at night. I'll get some better pics tomorrow
I picked up a turbo kit off my mate ben today. Got a crappy picture of it in the back of the ute. I'll unpack it in the garage and get some better pictures later. Its a cast mainifold with a td05h and vr4 'cooler. Should ad a littel poke and keep me entertained while I get the engine built and running in the other shuttle
Not much progress this weekend. I have semi cleaned the garage, well enough to get the shuttle inside. Got a new work bench too off someone throwing it out. Next weekend i'll crack into it and get it all bolted up. Tonight I managed to swap the injectors in.
haha me too, no work this weekend so i'll finally have time to progress. I'm itching to get started on it but there is no time during the week. I've sourced some steelies which i'll pick up this week
Had a really productive night tonight, removed the ac compressor and condenser, run all he charge pipes from the throttle body to the 'cooler, semi mounted the cooler, got the turbo and down pipe mounted, removed both exhausts from the shuttles. I'm a bit disappointed I didn't ask for a size when I got the exhaust done, it is only 2". I should of asked for 2.25 at the least. ah well its free flowing enough for this low power setup. I thought I had the camera in the ute but it was at home. I'll get some pics tomorrow.
i envy your shuttle bro. i was thinking of getting EF8's turbo kit on nzhondas but im worried i have to remove my ac. i love ac specially on a summer. and a reason why i bought the shuttle because the ac works. lol. goodluck with ya build bro. will keep an eye on this
Yeah I don't think you'll be able to keep a/c with a turbo, there jsut isnt enough room to do it easily. You could do a side mount with a water to air barrel 'cooler possibly? It'll be boosted by the end of the weekend. Just have to wait for the tuner to get some time
Got some pictures last night and Didn't get much else done. Picking up some wastegate gaskets this mornign and getting some brake lines so I can get rid of the ALB. Have to find some tight piping so I can make new hot side charge piping and keep the power steering.
onto the (few) pics
'cooler dummied up.
Manifold and turbo
Charge piping
While I was looking for plugs to make a obd1 dizzy harness I found my other adaptor ecu harness. I forgot I had 2 haha
All plugged in, I had to check it it was chipped. Tune was 113kw at the wheels afaik on the last motor.
and the manifold yes. I orginally bought it for my coupe but never eventuated.
Tonight I made good progress. Had a great day at pick a part, got the mount I need and got a prelude master cylinder and all the hard lines I need to replace the alb system. Got a mint manual center console with shift boot. Got the ute tinted too. I'll get pics tomorrow.
Went home and put the sump with the turbo drain on with a new gasket as the old one was leaking. ripped out the abs modulator so just have to get rid of the lines now. I also fitted the center console but forgot to get after pics. tomorrow I will find some silkaflex and fill the stabiliser mounts.
Onto the pics
got some slightly better pics of the stickers
Mint console
nice clean sump with magnetic bolt and turbo drain
I filled the mounts today, makes a huge difference already before I could rock the motor with just he front stabilizer mount in and now its rock solid. I got the rear mount in too which was a bit of a mission haha. The rear mount doesn't feel as solid as the front but is probably still better than stock. I also pulled out the alb pump and lines. What a mission getting the lines out with everything still in the bay. I should if learnt the first time.... I also relocated the horn as the charge piping is in the way.
I tried to smooth the mounts with my finger but I swear that stuff has anti gravity in it. it gets EVERYWHERE!
Nice clean(ish) mounts
One side filed
Other side done
Front mount
Filled
Give them a quick toast so they cure quicker.
Pull the alb pump and lines and m/c out. I think the master cylinder had a wee leak.
I tried to pull the lines though but the ends were in the way and kept getting caught on stuff.
I got pissed off and cut/broke them off
At this point I thought oh shit the mounts are in the oven.
took them out and doesnt look to bad
