first off i would like to thank member d-series.org member Onatop for coming through saturday to help me swap my motor and transmission. its not done yet but a hell of a lot closer to done than before.

OK so on to the swap sorry no pics didn't have time to take pics and learn at the same time. and my g/f would have killed me if i got the camera full of grease and shit.

so yesterday morning at 8:00am Onatop came through now i have no kind of tools to do anything besides an oil change, he brought tool's, a hoist basically everything we needed to do the swap. By about 11am or 12 the motor was out and we were ripping shit off the old block that we needed for the new motor. then i took a break to get Onatop and myself some left overs from the night before some chicken enchiladas and beans. Man left over chicken enchiladas taste so good.

After we ate we were back at work. Onatop's wife stopped by (thanks for the gatorade and the banana).
We were almost done with the swap when he realized I didn't have the transmission front mount or the passenger side bracket. So we left the car as it sits almost done, just need a few parts, drill a hole for the clutch cable and swap the auto pedal assembly for the manual assemble.

ill get some pics of the car as it sits a little later

lol yeah man the auto sucked and was fucked from the beginning
  • ok so the swap sucked ass man it wouldnt crank come to find out no compression at all something like 30psi per cylinder.

so now this weekend we are doing a jdm d15b vtak swap
  • ok so sunday 8/15/10
onatop came over and we swapped in a new motor. i just want this damn wagon drivable. so i can start really doing diffrent shit to it. he came over about 1 we yanked the no compression motor out took the tranny off and then put the fly wheel and clutch/pressureplate on the new motor, we had the motor in by 530 and now i just need some small things so i can get this damn car running.

  • well i drove the wagon for the first time today since the swap's have been done i love it just gotta figure out the rpm jumping up and down.

i love this damn wagon lol the seats are trashed but hey at least its running and drivable.

i also went to the dmv and got my temp tag's, and changed over my insurance from the DA to the wagon.
  • oh yeah my fan's not turning on but its also not overheating its weird.

i let the car run for 20 minutes then drove it for about 15 minutes up and down a hilly street and they still didn't turn on.

    whats up with that?
  • well had my first small problem yesterday on my way home from work about 3 blocks from my house.
a water hose that is located under the distributor decided it was time to blow. so it started to over heat i coasted it home, took some time to find the leak but no moe busted hose. it works great now.

nope thermostat works fine i found out that the fans kick on when the car overheats because one of the hoses busted

    hows the wagon doing ..??
  • the wagon is doing ok could be better. it has sat for about a year due to me getting another car, then the car got stolen and then found the next day about an hour from my house only missing a few things that i was able to pull off the wagon to get it running. then sold the car and am just now getting the wagon going again. the last transmission i had in the wagon ended up having a fluid leak and it locked up on me but now i need a few more pieces to have it running again
