awd loaf of bread

Hey my names lee, SOOO i bought evol911's zc turbo RT. i don't really talk alot so this will mostly be pictures..

<< As you might have noticed im canadian so i had to import the car into canada which up untill now was pretty easy.
I took it in for B.C provincial inspection yesterday and i payed $120 for some grump rude old guy to tell me my car failed.
it was all the things i new would be a problem.. i was hoping he wouldnt notice but did..

-p/s rack but no p/s pump
-crack in weld near cat
-rotted out muffler
-completely shot rear trailing arm bushings

all things i was going to fix anyways other then the steering rack..

so i started on the bushing last night got them out but i have to make something to put the new ones in.

heres a few pictures

got rained out today so no work will be done... i have 14 days to get everything done and back to inspection so i only have to pay $50 for re inspection.

    Awesome!

Glad it went to someone that will appreciate, and maintain this car! I never got a ride in it. But drove next to it and got to look her up and down in person. Love the car!

    evol is a moron lol

Where did you go for your ICBC inspection? Canadian Tire does not charge anything for the re-inspection. And if memory serves me right, they only charged me about $80 for the initial inspection.
  • Nice cars and welcome^^.

The paint looks so nice on the wagon! What colorcode is it?

ya canadian tire.. it was $99 $120 with tax. and $49 for re inspection within 14 days.

not sure of the color code i will look when it stops raining.

ohh ya i got a innovate wide band o2 kit aswell.. going to get it tuned once i have everything fixed and inspected.

I think I snagged it off a '87 Integra.. had to trim the ends then heated them up and rolled them in so it looked good.

    Yo Lee,

Any steering rack will fit, I would suggest HF due to the quicker "sportier" turning ratio. Didn't even think that would be a issue but your canuck inspections are wacko. I think there are some EF chassis in the my local parts yard we could snag a rack from if you wanna come down. I'll supply the tools and some man power. And I know we already discussed the exhaust   I know, I know, I weld like shit but the little 110v flux-core welder definitely did not help

edit: Just found this while searching craigslist 91 HF Crx part out
  • WAYgoneWAYgone Wagonist
im heading out to pick a part tomorrow if weather stays nice.. there was a crx last time. i really didnt think the rack was going to be a problem either after i get it backk on all 4 and the new rack in im going to take it down and get a 2.25" exhaust put in. i already have most off it from my old FWD wagon but it will need some modifications..

hey evol do you still have the timing belt cover for the zc?
  • Nah never had the top cover. Hard to find if its something you are thinking about replacing, but you could get lucky on EBAY or something.
  • WAYgoneWAYgone Wagonist
hmm ya i guess that will probably be my best bet but i will try posting on some local forums.. something should turn up.

oh got the new bushings in probably not set right because i forgot to check the angle of the old ones before i removed them.. iam going to get the energysuspension kit and do the hole car in a few months these are just temp to pass inspection.

also got a crx steering rack.. not sure if it was actualy a si... it said si, had si interior, and had a dohc zc... but didnt have rear disk breaks..

also snagged a a pretty nice panisonic cd player, 2 panisonic speakers and to JVC speakers.

1988 and 1989 CRX Si did not have rear discs. Don't do the RTA bushings from the ES kit. They'll bind up and make a mess of your handling (at the limit). They will lead to unpredictable "rotation" of the back end, the key being the unpredictable part. Stick with your OEM Honda parts. Just remove them and re-install them in the correct position. The last set of OEM RTA bushings I bought were identical to Mugen "hard" rubber bushings that I happen to have at exactly the same time. People had said that Honda were selling the Mugen parts (for this item in particular) as OEM, and I made the effort to compare. Same hardness of rubber, same rubber/void ratio, and I concluded "same part".

I had unpredictable oversteer on my autocross 1989 hatch while using the Energy suspension RTA bushings. I did some research and found out that others had complained of the same thing, and had changed to either the Mugen or the OEM parts. I did the same, and "voila", handling issues were gone.

thanks for the info i will stick with the oem ones. thats pretty funny about the mugens being the same as honda! what was the price differance?

what are the bushing replacment things your using now? i saw a link you posted a log while ago about it but cant find it and i coudnt remember what they were

  • WAYgoneWAYgone Wagonist
ohh ya does anyone have any good ideas for a exhaust set up? looking for something super quiet 2.5" high flow so the turbo can do its thing freely... any ideas are welcome
