  • Just a quick update...the insurance company informed me yesterday that the wagon was in fact deemed a "total loss". I am still trying to work out a deal with them. I am still planning on keeping and fixing

Good to hear, keep on them.

  • UPDATE:

Car was deemed total loss and was sent to the crusher :(

Just kidding  it was in fact deemed a total loss but i bought it back for 50 bucks 8) They cut me a check for 1500 but I put that money into my Legend. I did however scoop up two GSR fat fives and threw them on the back with two steeleis up front untill I find another pair of fat fives. I am looking to buy a door and a fender this weekend and hopefully get started sometime next week...for now im just driving it around crashed up LOL

Monday I am having the rear driveshaft installed and possibly a PCV valve (my exhaust is smoking like a chimney...maybe valve seals??) and a new radiator is also on my list
  • have to admit you got me with the crusher deal! good that you could get it back though with a check i hand!
  • ^

Another update, still no pics (sorry):

Found a blue door at one junkyard, a white fender at another, and installed everything this past weekend. I will be looking at having some rust removed and some paint in the next week or two...
  • Picked up some GSR fat fives on low pros for $150 and threw them on....ill probably rock steelies in the front this winter or maybe get some really beefy winter tires..still dont know what my funds will look like LOL

Threw in a license plate LED bulbs and a couple LED interior bulbs

Here is a pic from the other night at the gas station from my crappy blackberry

You took off the trim around the door or just took off the black covering to reveal the chrome.
  • good to see you didnt give up and send it to the crusher. looks decently clean. glwb
  • Thanks guys...love the positive responses

Ding Ding Ding! I stipped all of the black off because it was cracked and chipping. My question is why would they hide such pristine and beautiful trim? Are there any members who are rocking the chrome trim look? I am planning to strip the rest I just need a good technique.

Maybe a heat gun? If you figure something out, let us know. I'd like to strip mine, and give it a couple coats of trim paint to clean it up.
  • I just need a good technique
    that's right...
    you're the technique...
    muahahaha...

  • Well today I was adding a little bit of oil to the ol wago and this dude walks up to me and offers me 1500 cash for the wagon as-is...now i was just about to drop about 500 bucks in maitenance, so an offer like this really peaked my interest. I told him I would let it go for 1800 and he said he will pick it up 2moro!

We will see what happens...hopefully he takes it and I will be on the lookout for a new rust free project

    Stay tuned
