DA WEDGE'S new rt4wd ugly twin

I have had the wedge for about 9 months or something like that and since ive had it and got my swap done i wanted another wagon i really liked the 4wd wagons after seeing kyle h's so ive ben really looking for 2 months and i finally found one and the guy lived 2 blocks from my house lol

I picked this thing up for 700 bux its a 91 rt4wd , automatic , heat /ac , powerstering ,

the car came with a dual cam zc swap already and it even came with about 30 pounds of dog hair and rust and a couple dents i made out good lol

something is wron with the tranny it feels like it doesnt want to shift and when it does it feels like it doesnt want to down shift and the 2 low button does not work if yall have any links or info about tranny problems on the auto 4wd's let me know

but anyhoo on to the pics

the first thing i did was seen if the 4wd works so i took it thru some powerlines down the road a lil bit

heres a shot of the man i bought it off of taking of his tags and u can see the wedge and my boys new kouki 240sx in the back

that was a sweet deal.. i wish we could find deals like that around here... i had the chance to get a rt4wd but my buddy needed a car more then i did.. i wish i would have got it and told him to find another car... whats your plans for it..

    that's pretty nice.
did you ask him how it got there?
  • The man i got it from said ,
The man he bought it from told him it had a 98 acura intagra motor in it .
So before i seen the car in person i figured maybe he took out the 4wd ,
but when i seen the car in person i knew what it was right away and when i told the man and showed him the engine code he seemd kinda disapointed about it since hes ben telling all his freinds since he had it that it was a new motor .

so to anwser your question i guess the previous previous owner put the motor in.
witch he didnt do a vary good job of ,
almost all the bolts are loose or missing and the rear motor mount isnt even bolted on
The front one isnt there and the tranny leaks like someone stabed it .
im going to pull the motor and trany out in a week or so and redo everything and degreese the crap out of it .

and a lil update i pulled out the seats and took a brush and a vacuum and got about 80% of the dog hair/hay/stinkin ass nasty sh**t out of the carpet

tomrow wheels are comin off and gettin painted and maybe a lil rust restoration
  • Did u figure anything out with ur tranny, sounds like it needs a rebuild, probably worn clutch packs... What's the fluid look like... Does it smell burnt, seems like the cltch packs wear first on Honda automatics... The seals wear to so it has low pressure which makes it shift like shit...
  • well i started gettin some real work done on this thing this past weekend i bought a passenger front seat deskined it and put the fabric and foam on to the drivers seat and i installed a tail light i got from the junk yard and i fixed the passenger rear quarter panel about 85%

do any of yall have a special trick / tool to get the little rubber trim peice off the car right on the rear fender without brakeing the clips .

cant you just reach around the inside of the wheel-well and squezze the clip
    and pop it off...? nope...

upon further investigation it looks like the clip is on the inside of the car---
you will have to remove the interior rear plastics and then you can squeeze
the clip and get it off.... right....? wheres bam bam....
  • yea i thought both of those things would worl but nnoooo its inside the dam fender a part u cant get into so i guess im gona end up double side taping or some kind of epoxy the peice back on the car

oo and no plans to sell thins one why do you ask?
  • slo88crxslo88crx Senior Wagonist
Car looks good!! I might have to give that seat idea a try first on the wagon and next on my rex!!
  • double side taping or
if you're some kind of wagonrocketeer...

    don't, things keep flapping of...
    i know...

  • damn you work fast...lookin good so far cant wait to see progress. Motor looks promising too

I wish i knew how to remove rust
  • MondiVTEC wrote:

yea i like to do as much to my projects as fast as i can and as good looking as i can that way i dont fall out of the rythm and loose intrest

and it def helps to have a ton of junkyards around you

and for the rust thing you just gotta go for it try it out the worst that could happen would be it turn out like crap and you just have to grind it down and try again
