Finally… Found a wagon

New to the group here. Have had two wagons in the past – an '88 Wagovan and an '88 4WD wagon. Been regretting selling them over the years, so I picked up an '88 FWD DX wagon. I have come full circle since this one is the almond color of that original Wagovan. Pictures to be posted as soon as it gets back from the upholstery shop. It was in sad-looking shape when I saw it at my local repair shop. Seems the woman who owned it never had any maintenance, not even an oil change. Interior was a pit as if she let her dog live in it; full of dog hair and the driver's seat chewed up. She left it a year ago with the shop since she didn't want to spend money to repair it. We worked out a deal for the wagon with an engine rebuild, new alternator, battery, and other work. Already ruminating over what upgrades to consider. Still have to clean up exterior, replace some small bits and pieces that are broke or missing. Actually, the wagon is pretty complete with both exterior mirrors, air conditioning, clean headliner, and other stuff. Automatic though, so there may be consideration for getting back to a stick, if possible.
By the bye, this is a very devoted Civic family here. Over the years, owned the other two wagons, two '91 EX sedans, two '91 DX hatchbacks, and one '88 CRX. Just can't seem to get enough of the 4th generation Civics, and this town seems to have lots of them in various states of condition. Below is a picture of the two hatchbacks a few years ago. Still have the red one which only has 80k miles on it.
Besides having the wagon now with the hatchback, it's great to find a group of similar gearheads who recognize what a cult classic these Honda wagons are.
