  • Haha, yeah I allmost forgot about that.. he really asked for it.. never jumped the hood though, only gently kicked the front bumper
I am not that of a violent guy, so I was really surprised he was so impressed by me..

I would like to convert the rear drums to the discs I got from my crx, but after reading the forums it seems to be a bit difficult, or is it only with the integra brakes ? Judging by the workshopmanuals I would say the basics are the same. Hmm.. one more project on the "to do list".

if you have the parts for the rear disk conversion, you might as well try and go for it :D
  • @ eagle beagle - You're not on any dutch honda forums I believe ...
hmm...i paid contribution to one of them
and paid one of the sponsers 6,424.46 USD for fixing my car...
this is an all wagon/shuttle forum...i really like it here

Pfoeh... need to blow a lot of dust from this topic.

Did not get to do as much to my car as I would have liked, but at least some things have been checked of the to do list.
Got the car lowered with the schocks my crx unwillingly donated a few months back.

    202.jpg
Mudflaps now scrape on allmost every bump in the road, but this might also be due to weak springs.

The exhaust from my crx also found it's way to the shuttle.. ofcourse it would not fit because it was not designed for this car but after some minor work and an 330mm extension pipe behind the cat it almost looks better than on my crx. (sebring muffler, cat is empty and no silencer on the pipe in between) no pics jet sorry.

Last week I bought an extra b16a1 because I would like to take my own apart due to the fact that it has don more than 300.000 km's and i would like to check for wear.
So now this engine engine will act as a temporary swap, which will take place hopefully sometime july.

This month I was tempted to buy the nicest wagon I ever saw in holland (apart from beagles one maybe) but had to turn it down... it was automatic.
  • it was automatic
lame excuses ey...considering...you're swapping engines and all that...
    but ok

    those wheels look good.
    are they rotas?
  • mad doctahmad doctah Band Wagon
Yes they are rota's, but they only look good from a distance... the clear coat did not survive last winter

    CLEAN AS HELL!!!

    Thanks all,

It looked allmost rustfree when I bought the car, but now the devil is really starting to lick the rear arches...

Luckily it is nice outside in holland at the moment so i can do some little things to the car before swapping later next month.

First of all I mated the shuttle bumper frame to the ef9 front bumper, 2 holes line up and 2 need t be relocated, but the rest doesn't even come near the bumper.
Now all that is left is making new lips on the indicators which were broken of by a previous owner.

Next up I fitted the cluster from my ee8 (ef8), I think it looks really nice.

Replaced the cover around the gear lever with the one from my ee8 and put on a gearknob from a first gen crx (my first car, it moves to every new car I own)

    449.jpg

Had some time left and figured I could fit my strutbar (?) as well, it's from wiechers and specialy made to fit the ef8/9 to clear the intake

    450.jpg

And finally I have a pic from the exhaust, it's a normal civic/ crx item so it needed some work.
I think it looks better than on my crx....

(it only just clears the rear lower arm)

Damn, looking good! I have that same shift knob in my wagon. It's from a USDM first gen Integra though. :D
  • This summervacation I finally had the time to start the engine swap.
A friend started taking out the engine and putting in my old B16 while I was visiting relatives in germany.
All that was left for me was to take care of the wiring, which gave me a bit of trouble...
I forgot about the old engine only having dpfi instead of the b16's mpfi.
While searching the internet for information about conversions, I gave up and took the simple way out by reusing most of my old crx engine wiring to the ecu.

What I found when coming back from vacation.
    253.jpg

Now it's my turn, out with the old, in with the new(er)
    254.jpg

While driving home I noticed the car was not running well, somehow I managed to get the lambda's mixed up (european ee8 needs 2)

Last weekend I also replaced the left front fender and all front lights for the face lift versions.
I will make new pictures soon, after changing the valve cover and more small stuff to make it look better, maybe a clean up of the engine room as well... my friend forgot to do that.. hmmm... I can not complain after the work he did... :D

One small question.. shuttles have the same distance in chassis from engine to gear lever position as other civics ?
  • BillBoardBillBoard council member
    shes gorgeous!!!
  • same distance in chassis from engine to gear lever position as other civics
    year ?
ohwell. you should know by now...

  • Well I was pretty sure all civics were build the same, so I tought ee8(ef8) shift rods should fit when fitting a B16 using hasport mounts.
My friend already cut the shiftrods, so I got myself an extra set an they were about 35mm to long, so ehm... yeah now I know
Next on the list of changes have to be stiffer springs or different shocks in all... sometimes the oilpan hits on speedbumps..., dutch speedbumps are extreme....

    Woot!!

The dutch are taking over this forum....
