there was about a 6 or 7 inch gash in the rear seat where the vinyl met the
cloth material... i sewed it up using the coolest lttle tool my dad had...

i have no idea what its called- but its really handy... and has extremely thick
thread.... you unscrew the back and there are a few deferent size needles
to choose from and a tool to tighten it up- kinda like a rota-zip...

not the best sew job but better than seeing a chunk of yellow foam showing
through... and hardly noticeable once back in the wagon...

    love that colour!!
Me too.. i may paint it a different color though...
Certainly seems odd that "Ms. Piggy" is that neat Wagon brown. I'm not sure I could stomach painting a Wagon pink, though. Maybe just rename to "Rizzo the Rat"?

Good shit Bill. Good to see you got another wagon. Im sure you'll make this one unique as you always do. Doesn't look too bad.
its not bad at all- there is next to no rust and just the dents are the biggest bummer...
The rust-free sub-$1000 Wagon is like the Holy Grail. Apparently, it only falls into the hands of the deserving.

so i didnt really plan on doing this- but it happened, i did a complete interior swap....

    I drove up to Utah on Saturday and planned to stay a couple of hours;
thinking "i can take those door panels off; do a quick switch bust the whole thing
out in a couple of hours",.... lols im an idiot...

it took me about 7.5 hours, 1.5 Hienekin lights, 2 gatoraids, approx 7 Dorito ships and
a little help from the badest motha f'er in Utah; matt. he smoked most of the time, but
was an incredible help with the dash... He ran to the home depo to get rivets for switching
the vin#s and also provide air-compressed tools.. BAMF...

anyways- i have no pix of the actual swap- camera was dead, and i honestly didnt have
tme to snap any..... :x it took forever....

but this morning i got the wagon home to clean up and finish the rest of the swap...
suprisingly my mom came out to help- random... i was just vaccuuming and using
spot removal on the seats and rear carpet--- and she was like let me try; next thing
i know i turn around and............................................
    289.jpg

    290.jpg

incredible random!!!- especially if you know my mom- she had the power sprayer out
and a Tide Spot removal shapoo bucket full of spunges and rags and bristlely thingys..

my brother saw some sort of power tool being used and ran out to help... next
thing you know my seats are scatterd on the pavement and everyone is fighting
    over using the powersprayer...

    291.jpg

extra pass. seat- i have plans for...

    292.jpg

    293.jpg

    294.jpg

    295.jpg

i worked on the rest of the interior...
    296.jpg

    298.jpg

    299.jpg

    300.jpg

    301.jpg

    302.jpg

i would NEVER do a full interior swap again- just so much to swap out- things i didnt
think about- which include (door lock tabs. e brake. o shit handles. seatbelts. vin #.
plastic-screws; as the majority are brown in the brown interior and grey and
black in the other, just tons of little stuff...)
  • Marc_EE9Marc_EE9 Senior Wagonist
yep, there is a lot to the shuttle interior, i found the rear plastic the most awkward, as you need to move the seats out the way etc

good effort as usual bill. i told craig you had sold you rt, he couldnt believe it, but was happy to hear you have another wagon ;)

lols yeah i think wagons are in my blood- as in, even if i try to get rid of them,
i come crawling back; like some sort of domestic abuse victim...

yeh man, i never really looked at them twice until i saw craigs, then when you joined 4guk, i was like, "fuck, they can look that good!"

im not sure what my long term plans are, as it is going to be an asset worth a bit when im done, and could do with the cash, but i would be able to get another 4wd again, i would have to import one.

    anyway, lovin it!!
    :D

I was going to ask how you got your seats so clean but, I see now. Man I need a pressure washer. Any suggestions on how I should tackle stains in my seats without a pressure washer?

rent a carpet cleaner or shampoo vac... they work great too...
  • ThaClutcHThaClutcH Senior Wagonist
Yea, I got a shop vac. Was going to give it a try. You know its like one of those wet/dry vac things. Should I apply the cleaner and water, then vacuum up?

fo shizzle; just use some sort of spot cleaner or shout or tide or something too...

or wagodizzle stripped his seats and threw them in the washing machine- that looked
awesome- i think he made a thread about it somewhere...

    moar...

well today i woke up early cause i was supposed to be shooting a local commercial-
the shoot got canceled because of the rain... so i went to the A-hole Junkyard; the
people at this particular junkyard are Assholes; but they have a great rt4wd wagon
that is a delicious parts wagon; so you have to put up with them...

i got a driverside and passenger side door panel- for 25bucks a piece- 50 total...
A little steep in my opinion but 10$ cheaper than they told me yesterday... :?:
and they were in exceptional condition...

    anyways picture time...

    the new stuff...
    378.jpg

    379.jpg

    my now old stuff...
    380.jpg

    381.jpg

o i also replaced this cause it had a crack in it...
    382.jpg

and i got this at the junkyard too-- i dunno why i like it...
    383.jpg

    384.jpg

o and if you ever find one of this little yellerish plastic things broken, they slide
out easy and you can replace them...
    385.jpg

    386.jpg

done apparently i didnt take a pic of the driverside...
    387.jpg

put some of my mostly-dry interior in... i figure it would dry faster in my hot car
as oppose to sitting in a cold garage...
    388.jpg

    389.jpg

i put the extra passenger seat i cleaned in...- i wish i had a before; this thing was
    haggard...
    390.jpg

and my old passenger seat i dismantled; i plan to use it for teh driverside...
    391.jpg

    392.jpg

threw that shit in the washer; my goal is to make it home before my mom finds
out that im using her new washing machine to wash my car seats...
    393.jpg

    394.jpg

hopefully the above^^^ will go on this...
    395.jpg

o i also got a fender from dude in utah... thanks jeckel30- its not the right color
but it is in good shape...
    396.jpg

o i also got a passenger side mirror if anyone noticed...
