well the other week that flex pipe i used on my exhaust rotted right off, after about 3 months in the snow. i went to my friend who works at the local midas and had him bend me a solid pipe for it. it should hold for a while now. i also put a nice tip on the tail pipe too. i have yet to take a pic but ill do that soon.
also my ICM in the distributor was bugging out for a few months intermittently (CEL code 15) and i had thought it had shat the bed the other week cause i had to get towed and i bought a new one ($85 cost) and as i was taking the dizzy apart it turned out to be just a loose connector on the ICM. go figure. now she runs great and no more CEL code 15, yay!
so i just ordered up some JDM tail lights and an energy suspension hyperflex master bushing kit today i cant wait for them to get here so i can install it all. ill get pics of the install, before and after.
i just picked up a new (to me) lift gate from the junk yard that has no rust on it, and is the same color. in this same trip i found that they have a 84-87 4wd wagon with a manual 6 speed.

a few weeks ago i put some of my energy suspension bushings(front LCA) in.
ill get pics of the stuf i have for my build, its all in my storage unit.
so i ordered a skunk 2 front camber kit and new lower ball joints and a K&N air filter. they should be getting here friday. im excited. since my front end has been feeling a bit crunchy. after this my front end will be restored to almost new. ill post pics when they come in.

dropped the filter in today at work. i can feel the difference.
so i did some body work a few weeks ago with my buddy who works at the local body shop. im almost ready to get inspected but i still have to do the pass side rear quarter panel rust and rocker panel. we did the driver side cause it was the worse side of the two.

Oh yea, i also got an HID 6000k low beam kit and installed it while we were doing the drivers side body work! now i can see real well at night.
and today i replaced the two front broken springs with some EG coupe EX springs. they fit but it was tight in the top hat rubber and perfect on the shock perch. one of the springs was broken at the top and bottom coils and the other was broken in 2 places on a single coil.
and at the same time i put in my front camber kit and did an alignment. looks very out of place being so shiney.
i set the camber to stock specs cause im not lowered yet but i hope to get a nice setup in the spring when it gets nice out. but for now im going to play in the snow for the winter
and the other day my clutch release bearing is making all kinds of noise so i have to drop the trans to do that.
i also picked up an engine stand to start building my A6/Z6 beast. best of all was that it was 50 bucks on craigslist, used once.... ten years ago, stored inside:) i hope you enjoy this update!
time is of the essence when im at the shop working on my car. i only get to work on it in the shop on every other Saturday. the saturdays i cant work on my car are when im working. and they are only open for like 5 hours on Saturdays, they open at 7:30 and close at 12. and i sometimes don't get up early enough to get the whole time to do things. and they don't have a power washer.
ill get around to it later but i just didnt have the time to give the parts a good washing and itll be a bit hard to do it outside cause its cold out and im not really supposed to work on m. car in the parking lot where i live. (i live in an apartment complex)

haha yea my apartments have bitched at me several times... but now i think they gave up. they dont say anything anymore.
so this past Wednesday my clutch release bearing blew up... literally....
it was squeaking before it blew up. i just didnt get to it fast enough...
the bearing after it blew up chewed up my pressure plate to hell
this is a new bearing next to my fresh 5 piece bearing
in this event i now dont have a car for the rest of the week, maybe longer
and in the process of removing the trans, 2 of the rear trans mount bolts snapped and would not come out after heating them up. so now i have to put in my spare tranny that was sitting in my storage unit that i wanted to rebuild to go with the engine im going to rebuild. but those lans just went out the window.
so my backup tranny is in and bearing is in with spare clutch. been driving on it a week and its incredible.
the back up tranny doesnt grind in reverse!! hooray!!

The grinding one is the one you want to rebuild anyway! If it's even possible, that is.
i finally have all of my control arm bushings done! rides like new... except that i still have trash RTA bushings. and to replace them i have to disconnect the rear compensator arms(rear tow adj) and come to find out they are siezed.... bawlz...
well just yesterday i went to the local honda dealer and picked up 2 freshie arms... the last 2 in the united states dealer network!!!
now to get the old ones out and do those RTA bushings!
Yeah those compensator arms bolts/bushings are prone to seize. As for the RTA bushings...you have the tool? If you can borrow one, it will make your life so much easier.

i used a front wheel bearing tool called "the hub tamer" that the shop i work at has to do the RTA bushings. as for all of the other bushings i used a ball joint press, sawzall, hammer and chisel. worked wonders. this past week i also replaced the rear diff isolator bushing, and now there isnt any clunks when launch and shift hard. the rubber of the bushing was no longer attached to the metal frame. i pulled it out with my hands. im gonna have to re-do the rear LCA bushings cause i picked up a Si rear sway bar setup. but i dont need to do that till i figure out how to mount the sway bar to the car.
so this past week i crashed my wagon beyond repair for the cost to repair. every one involved suffered no serious injuries.

she still drives but the left rear trailing arm bushing mount bent and i bent the LR wheel too. its a little squirrely.
so may this wagon rest in peace. but not before major parts pillaging...
