Honda Civic Shuttle 1.6i 4WD (Real Time)
EE4
Chianti Red/R67-M

So I picked this up on Monday night (27th April), after parting with a reasonable amount of cash. I think I could of got it a bit cheaper if it was daylight, and if I wasn't so excited! , but the guy had a lot of phone calls and knew it was sought after. The ad said 89k, but it actually has 74k (same mileage as my VT when I bought it  ), with lots of paperwork to back it up. Having a service every year, and as its pretty low mileage for a 1989 car, its had its oil changed regulary etc..

Interior is pretty spotless, apart from one or two small nicks on the rear door card. I also found a little tray that slides out the front of the passengers seat in the front, well cool!! The bonnet, doors and boot all shut perfectly, but the boot struts need replacing. The spare wheel, jack and tools look like it had never been used! All the electrics, lights and heaters work spot on, as does the central locking.

Under the hood is the D16A7 SOHC PGMFi engine :D
It starts first time, drives spot on, although a bit tappy on "cold" start, and a slightly sloppy gearstick. After reading Nominous' thread it seems a common accurance. It has an SL gear, which is Super Low I'm guessing, for hill starts etc, its pretty wierd having 2 first gears, so I doubt I will use it. The 4WD system feels great and you just go straight away froms standing - I can't wait until its on the road, so I can test it out!

Now the bad bits...
After removing the rear arch trims and skirts, and throwing those stupid arch trims away, there was a bit more rust than I thought. I bit of a bodge one side, the other seems to have been treated but not sprayed. Hopefully someone I know will be sorting it out for me. I don't think it warrants a whole arch replacement or sill, I hope. A couple of the screws holding the skirts on have rusted out underneath, so that would need cutting out and patching.

I had to remove the rear drivers light as it was full of water! I've dried it out and fitted it back, but god damn there are fiddly buggers to unscrew! It doesn't sit as it should, so I'll have to bend the bracket outwards a bit to suit.

Things I need to get/do:
1. Get rusty rear arches/sills repaired
2. Sort out front wing
3. Sort door panel rust patch
4. Total strip top to bottom, rust proof and refurb any parts etc
5. Replace front passenger door bump strip
6. Replace passenger's sun visor, as its bent :?
7. Fit new radiator and expansion bottle
8. Replace headunit - how do you get OEM ones out???
9. Get a new release pin for rear seat

BUT, hopefully, if all goes well, a will have all the parts I need and more on Saturday, apart from the radiator. ;) ;)

Over all I'm really happy, but will be more happy when the rust is sorted!

:D

Future plans:
- Colour code bumpers (not fully)
- Re-furb steelies
- Remove rear boot lock
- I may change the headlights to single bulb, still undecided
- Find some roof bars!

*

Second day in, and I've covered all the rust with gaffer tape if it rains. I might try and get it in the garage, but I need to clear up a lot of stuff.

Removed the headunit, and I've straightened up all the rubber seals that had folded on the outside, round the windows etc..
I also stuck a bit of windscreen trim down and filled it with black sealant.
And I noticed some vents under the front seats that circulate air to the rear passengers!
:D

Got to work on a bubble of rust on the bootlid around the badge...

Kurust treatment

30042009555.jpg

I have looked through all the paper work and everything checks out. Hasn't had any major problems, apart from the rust advisory on the last MOT, and servicing. It had a new windscreen not long ago due to a chip that had turned into a crack. And I was also very happy to find it has had a new clutch and gearbox oil change in January, around 2,000 miles ago. :D

Day Three
Not such a good one.

Today I worked the drivers side of the car. I stripped the doors down to check for rust. The front door is all good apart from this hinge has snapped off the inside skin...
Not quite sure what to do about that... :?

30042009556.jpg

The rear however was a bitch! Took me forever to get the door card off as one screw would not budge, no matter what I tried, so ended up getting raged and snapping the trim that it was attached with. The column of rust on the door (pictured below) is total rusty through to the bottom inside the door - so I'm going to have to sort a new door, and also make sure the other side isn't the same and prevent it from happening again - as there are gaps at the top where water can run down. I think the obvious option is to treat the window columns with some kind of waxoil product. I have a can, but its just a clear liquid spray?

30042009559.jpg

30042009562.jpg

I also managed to snap some window sill clips and the bottom D-pillar vent trim clip.
Managed to superglue these ones back together, but I still need one for the D pillar trim...

30042009557.jpg

30042009563.jpg

On Saturday, Daz is delivering a 1.4 GL Shuttle, and I'm hoping, or rather praying, the door and trim pieces I need are intact and not shagged! Fingers crossed!

Tomorrow... passenger side :(

*

Day Four

Today I worked the passengers side of the car. Took off the door cards, checked it was all good. The doors have no rust at all, and no faults or problems, which is good.
I rust proofed the holes for the skirts on the top of the sill, and repaired a scuff on a seam under the rear of the car, also cleaned and painted the rear toe hook, as that was a bit rusty.

Busted door trim removed from door ready for the new one to go on.

Rear rusty door I posted yesterday is half stripped, ready for tomorrow when the GL Shuttle arrives, and I can swop over the door if its in good nick. It has to be better than this one inside anyway. Might take me a while as I need to swop over everything inside the door - electric window motor, switches, wiring, central locking etc...

Everything is hanging on tomorrow now.

*

Day Five

Today was a good day, as I received a doner Shuttle (EE1 GL manual), with a big thanks to Daz for delivering it, and Stu (sixpointnine) for sorting it all out! Nice one fella's.
It didn't turn out to be as good as I had hoped, or as clean - I managed to fill a bin bag with rubbish and old oily clothes! Some one like's there Dr Pepper!
Was quite busy round mine anyway, as my mum was home for the day from the hospital, and my sister was over. My dad didn't seem too bother I had another car arrive, but he know's I'm not stupid, and it's not going to be here long. Bit of encouragement goes a long way, which is rare from my dad.

It is R72-P Torino red metallic, which isn't the same as the 4WD, but close. The 4WD is R67-M Chianti Red pearlescent, so that was a bit of a bummer, but no bother, as you all know I can spray that up. It does turn out to have some bits I didn't think it would, like mats, and mint front wings, which are much needed! :D

It doesn't have a rear wiper arm, radiator, battery, spare wheel/jack/tool kit, but everything else is there, although a little dirty or rusty.
I also noticed the drivers seat has been raised about 1.5", for some short-A$$!

02052009577.jpg
02052009578.jpg
02052009580.jpg
02052009579.jpg

Found A LOT of water in the boot, I couldn't quite believe it!
The cubby hole was full, and also a shallow puddle in the boot. Not quite sure how it got there... :?
02052009575.jpg

And this was still in the headunit, not sure if it works though, I hope it does!! Then I can plug it into my phone. But if I swop the headunit over, do I need the code?
02052009582.jpg

I need a few bits off it, as well as taking some bits to sell. So far I've taken...
- Full set of Honda mats
- Side lights (non screw type)
- Passenger door bump strip
- Passenger sunvisor
- D pillar vent trims and clips
- Full set of muflaps
- Rear seat release pin
- Expansion bottle and tubing

Things I still need to take off:
- OEM stereo (do I need the code?)
- Headlights
- Bumpers
- Wings
- Rear number plate holder
- Rear lights
- Rear cubby holes
- Boot barrel grommet

I cant take the door I need as its also in similar condition inside, and the outside shell has a ding and rust patch, so I need to source another from somewhere, hopefully Nominous, if he can hook a brother up! The rear arches have been repaired before, and have bubbled a lot again - so I wont be chopping any bodywork - it's not worth it.

I filled up the boot with a load of parts I don't want! It makes a good storage place, quite handy!

And my old man's just cooked me steak and potatoes, and I'm going to be drinking Strongbow for the rest of this evening, as I can't afford to go to the Reading Beer & Ale festival this weekend.

:D

Day Six

I went about taking the rest of the bits off the doner GL Shuttle today. All thats left now is the boot struts to come off. Bit of a slow start as I thought it was going to rain, but turned out all good.
Today was very productive. :D

Parts taken off:
- Rear number plate holder
- Rear corner tail lights
- Rear bumper and fogs
- Front bumper and indicators
- Headlights
- Front drivers wing
- Centre console (both parts)

First up I did the rear end.
The rear number plate holder was a bitch to get off. There is a plastic clip in the centre behind the number plate, and it won't slide out which it should, so I ended up yanking it, but it was all good, it came out in one piece thank fook. You also need the intereior boot trim taken off to undo 4 sneaky 8mm bolts. The trim is easy to get off, just take out the plastic screws and hit upwards with your palm to loose the clips that run along by the bottom of the window. None broke and it works a treat on the hatchbacks too.
One of the lights on the rear is pretty mint, the other is too, but has a chip 'n crack to it. I will properly swop them both over.

The front bumper is in much better nick than mine, so that's being swopped, also the single bulb headlights and late spec sidelights will make there way onto the 4WD when I take the front end off in a few weeks time. The 4WD has screw type side lights, so I will have to take the clips off the other wing to suit. That should clean up the front end loads with new lights and bumper! :D
The front wing I took off looks brand new on the inside, it's definately not the original one. The other wing I will leave on, as my one only has a small scuff that's not damaged it, and less painting to do then to. ;)

I also took out the headunit as I'm hoping to put it in the 4WD, but I'm sure I will need the code - which I hope Honda still have on their records! And I removed the centre console as I think a forum member is interested in that, as well as the rear bumper.

Tomorrow I'm having a break from the Shuttle's, as I need to do a couple of rockers, and me and the old boy are going to give the shed and garage a clear out. So brave yourself for yet ANOTHER for sale thread!

Thanks for reading.

    Day Eight

I had things to do the past two days, but I managed to get some stuff done. While I was out the front today, a 4x4 drove past and stopped, a guy got out and walked over. Turns out he's a scrapper, and offered me some cash to take the doner GL away when I'm done with it - result!!!
So I decided to take some more bits off! :D
    - Passenger wing
    - Glovebox
    - Boot lid lights
    - Boot struts
    - Spoiler
    - Coin tray
    - Rocker cover

And I will take some more bits off the GL tomorrow, as well as fit the busted wing to it...
    - T-bar
    - Window winders
    - Rear plastics/cubbies
    - Vents/clock
    - Heater unit
    - Speedo surround (maybe speedo as well)
    - Remaining bump strips
    - Headlight plugs and wires
    - Boot shelf and carpet
I was told today it has a recent new clutch, so I may try and get that out at some point. But I dont think I can get it up high enough to drop it out. My 2ton jack only goes so high.

The spoiler was easy to remove, just pop the trim off inside, and undo 4 bolts, same with the lights. The boot struts have trim covering the 2 bolts at the top, then you need to pull the trim out to undo the strut bolted in to the chassis at the bottom. It's a bit of a pain but no biggy.

On the 4WD I haven't done much, I would of done more but kept looking like it was going to piss it down! I also need to concentrate more on the GL and getting it and the parts gone, as we're running out of space!
    - Broken sunvisor replaced
    - Bumper, and lights removed
    - Wing un-done ready to take off

I had to cut a slit and pop the bumper off two rusted bolts that hold it on underneath, but the bumpers in a sorry state anyway, so it was no bother as I have a replacement. While I was looking under the front of the car I noticed the oil sump and gearbox has some surface rust, so I will give them a clean and get some Hammerite on them.

Another update in a few days.

    *

    Day 9

More parts removed from the GL:
    - T-bar with latch (spare to clean up)
    - Front door winders (for Daz?)
    - Vents and clock (spares)
    - Speedo surround and column casing (swopping over)
    - Heater unit (spare or sell)
    - Bump strips (spares)
    - Headlight plugs w/wires (for the EE4)

And I attached the busted wing, as it was rusted around the inner arch holes. I still need to get out the rear plastics and cubby holes, as well as the boot shelf/carpet, but that's it. Also while I was working out the front, I got chatting to a real sound Jamaican guy who is doing up a house next door, we chat every now and then, but today I found out he use to fix up cars and sell them on. He is good mates with the new owner of our local scrap yard, and can introduce me one day next week, so that's another result!!
    :D

I'm swapping over the speedo surround as the GL is a late spec, so has the buttons different, and I noticed the dials are slightly different, so may consider those aswell.

    www.civicwagon.com
    www.civicwagon.com

    4WD work carried out:
    - Late spec sidelights in
    - Late spec single bulb headlights in
    - Better condition front bumper on
    - New wing on

I loosely attached the front bumper, lights, and the new wing as I will no doubt take them off again soon, but I need to clear some space-man!

    06052009625.jpg

So that's the front end done bodywork wise for a while, until I get the welding done. Great day for a few hours this afternoon, so I pushed the 4WD out the garage as I had a rocker cover to spray, as well as rust proofing my sills in the VT, another productive day.
Tomorrow it's forecast to rain, so who knows what I'll get done, but I have some parts to pack up, and some more auctions to list

    Marc, over and out

    *

    Day 11

I haven't done any work on the RT for a few days now, apart from put a proper set of Honda mats in that were in the GL. I also joined the HCW forum yesterday, and have get some useful info already; managed to select SL today. It needs to be pushed with a bit of effort to get in, but boy does it go in nice and smooth! I suspect it's hardly been used!

I have totally stripped the GL of all parts I can store... I am tempted however to keep the bonnet and do some crazy graf piece on it. And I was going to take the central locking mechanisms, but then the doors dont stay shut lol, so I can't be bothered - mine are perfect anyway.
ANOTHER scrapper drove past my house today and offered me £50 to pick it up tomorrow morning, so I think I'm going to do it as there's nothing else I want from it, and then it gives me the driveway back. However I do need to shift some parts ASAP, as I have zero room now. Even the spare room is packed with bits!
So tomorrow I will start listing parts for sale, and knock up some kind of storage shelter in the back garden for a few bits.

Leigh @ sixpointnine should hopefully be welding the arches and sills for me by the end of the month. Then it's all systems go for a total strip, clean and rust proofing session.
    Bring it on!!

FINAL GL PICTURES... (front wipers, scuttle panel, and rear washer jet also removed)

    Day 12

The GL was taken away this morning, by some some local 'lads' shall we say. Got £50 for it, but they took the bonnet, which I now really want!!
But I got most bits off that are useful.

    And then there was one...

So today I swopped a rear tail light over as one was a bit dirty behind the lense.
Removed the roof gutters and gave them a good clean out. I also want to get the windscreen moulding replaced, but I will do that in a few weeks after the welding, which is planned for around 2 weeks time. At the same time I will be picked up a new radiator to fit aswell.
I fitted the OEM stereo from the GL, but I'm yet to test it out, it should be fine, as I wouldnt see the need for a code as well as the unit being bolted and screwed in..??

Tomorrow I am going to try and temporarily sort the rusted column in the rear door, as I can't seem to find a door to replace it. I may enquire about getting new bits welded in..? :(
    Also...
    - Fix a few bits of trim
    - Rust proof the insides of the doors
    - Coat the sills with vinegar
    - Swop over late spec speedo and surround

    *

    Day 13

Bad number, bad day. I wasn't in a good mood for some reason.

Broke more fucking clips and trim today.
The rear window trim is being a bitch, and won't sit flush now after I took it off. I think the window sealant is getting in the way.
I ended up superglueing the broken clips for the window sills back together, worked out alright.

Late spec speedo only goes to 120mph, where as I need 150, so thats a no go, which means the surround isn't any good either. That needs different plugs for the switches. I thought about removing them from the GL... but I didn't - another bummer.

The other OEM headunit I have doesn't work either, I'm pretty sure I need the code. It powers on, but no display or other buttons work.

I need to sort out the windscreen moulding, because it's loose in one corner.

Managed to spray some Waxoyl on the inside rusty door pillar. It repairable, but I will do a better job another day.

And I managed to straighten out the roof gutters. They are easy to come off, they just slide out backwards, or you can pull them up, theres no clips that can break! Thank fook.

Also coated the sills with vinegar. ;)

Got a lot planned for tomorrow.

    *

    Day 14

Sun was shining and blue sky all day. 8)
So I got on it, and picked up some supplies, and ordered up my underseal protection..
    - Dynax S50
    - POR 15 underseal black
    - POR over coat black
    - R67-M paint
    - Black weather proof sealent
And I already have primer and lacquer.

I need the POR stuff for next weekend when it's booked in the Leigh (via Stoo @ 6.9) to have the welding done.. I will also be doing a bit of trading, so tie it all in nicely. So I won't be able to make Japfest this year, but JAE is the main one for me this year. BUT I haven't received the new logbook yet so can't tax it until that.

I sorted out the other roof gutter - they both needed straightening out as there were gaps. Also stuck down the two top corners of the windscreen moulding, and covered it with the black sealent.

Attached the doner passenger bump strip. It is a bit dented, but it's better than the one that was on there.

Rust proofed the inside of the doors, and re-attached all the door cards etc.. but I'm still missing an interior window latch surround, after I broke it to get it off :(

Lined up the front end and bolt all up. Still need to replace the other wing though, as thats also rusted away at the arch liner holes.

These are the clips I broke. The ones at the top are for the window sills, I managed to glue those back together. The lower ones are fooked clips for the rear window surround, I didn't have anything to replace it or fix it, so I ended up screw it in at the bottom with the original broken clip in there. As the trim has little vents in it you dont see it - worked out better than I thought and holds it just where I want it.

    10052009687.jpg

I put some sealent round the rear doors, as thats where water was going down and rusting the column..

    Before
    11052009690.jpg

    After...
    Looks a bit messy, but I don't care. :D

On my travels today I took a little pic while I was at some lights..
    11052009688.jpg

    :D

So far I have spent £625 ($935) on both cars and supplies bought.

    Day 16

I have realised now I have got rid of the GL, that the springs from it will drop the 4WD by 1", and the car has now been crushed. Bummer. :(
New ones are around £110 ($165).

Rain has stopped me doing any other bits I can do. I may give it a quick wash when I can, as I haven't yet as I want to keep the rust dry.

Today I spent an hour cleaning up the engine bay. The only parts I didn't clean were the rocker cover and manifold shield, as they will be painted soon.

Heres the mint OEM headunit I don't have the code for. :(
    15052009714.jpg

And I started on the new rocker cover. I shaved off two lugs that aren't needed, and filled the small remaining hole with some liquid metal.

    Before....

    After...

Just need to wait for it to set, then smooth it off and spray it up.

    Day 22

Today I finished off the rocker cover...

And I painted up a spare set of rear door handles, only just finished them.

    Day 23/24

Went to paint my manifold heat shield yesterday for it to only get messed up, so I got raged and smashed the shit out of the fucker!!
    (now looking for a replacement :( )

Today I just got on it! Picked up some more supplies...

    21052009745.jpg

Painted radiator brackets... after I rubbed them down and soaked in vinegar over night..

    21052009739.jpg
    21052009744.jpg

Fitted colour coded rear door handles. Best way I found to getting the handles out, is take off the door card, peel back the sheet, then un-clip the top rod for the C/L, then you take out the 3 screws holding the door lock in place on the end of the door, you can then manuver the mechanism up and un-clip the other rod for the door handle. Then you can get a 10mm socket in the gap where the lock was to undo the bolt, and finally the one the other side last, as its the easiest one to get to. Then it should push out, and you can unwind it off the main vertical rod.

    21052009750.jpg

Swopped the headlight plugs over... although I haven't tested them yet, but they should be fine..
It originally had twin bulb headlights, so had two plugs, and I now only need the one..

    headlightplugs.jpg

I replaced the other wing (rust proofed before I applied ;) )... and took off all the front end to clean and rust proof.
First thick coat to rust effected areas..

    21052009741.jpg

And I test fitted a CRX VT front lip to the bumper. It's almost the right length, but there is 10mm gap at each end, and it's more curved than the bumper is, but thats nothing a heat gun can't rectify. Going to prep the bumper tomorrow and maybe get started on painting it.

    21052009740.jpg

And I just got another coat on the front end, so tomorrow it will be dry. Although it I do recommend putting a dab of Hammerite/Underseal on parts of panels that bolt up together (eg: wings), so it kind of seals the joins.

    frontendrustproof.jpg

Tomorrow I need to paint the T-bar, a bit different.. :)
Also, clean up the latch, and order a new rocker cover gasket set.

    Day 25

Postman popped a brown envelope through the door today from the DVLA, I thought it was the 4WD logbook, but after I looked at the details it was for the bloody GL! So hopefully the 4WD one is on its way.

Got on with painting the T-bar, and due to Hammerite's shit aerosol's that only last 5 minutes, I got stressed out and launched it at the shed. Lucky I have a spare which is now drying and looks all good... after I had to go out and buy another can.

I also sprayed up a bit of the front slam panel, and fitted the lights back in after making sure they work with the new plugs swopped over.

    22052009758.jpg
    22052009762.jpg

The paint I got mixed up is spot on! Just need to give these bits a good clean and polish when its fully dry.
    Inside new, outside old.. ;)
    22052009763.jpg
    22052009764.jpg

I've come to realise the past few days, I hate waiting for paint to dry!!

A picture of the new radiator brackets and cleaned up bonnet latch. Deciding whether to paint it or not...?

    22052009765.jpg

Started sanding down the front bumper too.
Not as much as I had hoped to get done, but tomorrow is another day.

    Day 26

Painted up the latch before bed last night so it was dry today. Fitted it to the T-bar, greased it up to the max, and a few new bolts later...
I couldn't be bother to colour code it again, as it's not visable when the bonnet is shut (and the bumper is on).

    Day 29/30

Today I got a fair bit done. I touched up some chips and scratches on the bodywork..

Painted the rusted door column with Hammerite...

    27052009795.jpg

And then got to work on the rear end.
First I took off the rear wiper, and the arm was a bit corroded, so got the dremmil on it, and primered it (still needs another coat)..

    27052009791.jpg

Then I took off the interior hatch trim so I could undo the bolts for the number plate holder. Once removed I found some corroded bolts that lead to rust, so quickly got to work on it!
I also made sure no other places could get rusty, as well as sorting out the nasty bit... I had to prise up the metal to get all the loose rust out. It hasn't gone through the metal, so that's a good thing.

    27052009780.jpg
    27052009781.jpg

    27052009785.jpg
    27052009786.jpg
    27052009788.jpg

Sanded this area back to metal and primered it as there was a bubble of rust. Need to wet sand and prime again before I add colour and lacquer..

    27052009789.jpg
    27052009790.jpg

    27052009796.jpg

And managed to sand down the front bumper yesterday ready to spray it up. Should get a few bits finished up tomorrow. Was raining today, but now on it's suppose to be glorious sunshine until next week, so should get a lot done.

    Day 31

I've not had a great day, and these bad days come down to when I'm spraying. I can't get the new and old paint work to match up, which leads me to thinking I won't be able to spray up the arches and sills when the welding has been done, as my garage is small, and tools are limited, so I think I will spend the same amount of money if I pay for it to be done by a pro. So after I've messed up the bootlid, that might need doing also. I need one of those rotary buffers, or maybe a piece for a drill..
Not sure if I can be bother to try again..

    28052009817.jpg

So here's where I'm at today...

Wiper arm painted and ready to go back on...

    28052009820.jpg

And I picked up a new rocker gasket set from Honda (£33 :( ), and fitted the new cover... (bit of oil down the spark plugs :? )
Had to put some gasket sealant in one bolt plug thing, as it broke, I may have a spare somewhere anyway.
Just need a new heat shield!

    28052009802.jpg

    28052009805.jpg
    28052009807.jpg
    28052009808.jpg

Just going to put an updated list up, to remind myself what's going on lol

Things I need to do myself..
    - Smooth off boot lock
    - Spray bumpers
    - New radiator
    - Touch up chips/scratches
    - Change brakes all round and fluid
    - Refurb wheels
    - Colour code front door handles, maybe mirrors?
    - Fit lips to bumpers
    - New wiper blades and JDM plates

Things to be done "out of house"...
    - Rear arches/sill repair and painted
    - Bootlid to be painted (with above)
    - Oil leaks (under dizzy area, sump and gearbox)
    - Maybe new sump gasket and sump (as its quite rusty)

    Day 32-35

Been in a bad mood the past few days, as things weren't going right with the car's, but after today, I'm feeling it!! I've noticed the RTA bushes need changing, as they are completely rotten. Are they the same as all other 88-00 Civic's?
My dad's is off to Jamaica for 3 weeks (for a paid for holiday by a friend in the USA!) tomorrow, so I have the house to myself, so I would expect BIG updates soon!! :D

Front wiper arms painted and put back on, and a quick pic of damaged wing replaced..

    31052009827.jpg

    And today I went shopping!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    JDM AS FUCK YO!!!!

    01062009828.jpg

Someone on 4guk.co.uk posted up a link to a JDM Beagle Shuttle being broken on eBay, and it turns up half an hour away. So I hop in the VT with my tools and get down there asap!
Turns out it has a blown headgasket, so they scapped it! I said I would of bought it and got it trailered away, but it was too late, as the 'grabber' had fooked it when it picked it up. They also had a DX, but the guy wanted the running gear/engine/body for banger racing! :(

I am going to go back I think, as it has some other bits I would like, but I needed to get back, so couldn't stay any longer. Like the front bumper and headlight washers!! I need to get a fair bit out for that, the plugs, pump, tubes, maybe expansion bottle, wiring, switch with plugs etc...
I really wanted the window visors, but 3/4 are snapped/cracked. Bummer!! And I was going to take the rear plate holder, but I didn't as I already have one, but I now know someone who hasn't!
I noticed a few other cars there, as I was there for about 3hrs lol... a Concerto 1.6, and a 1994 Accord, I may have a scout at them when I go back. :D

Anyway, heres what I got, for a very reasonable price.
I must say they are a great bunch down there, not like your usual scrap yard folk.

    01062009829.jpg

    - D-pillar trims AND clips! woho!!
    - Rear drivers door latch trim wohoooo!!!!
    - Honda tool kit (only has wrench and the jack handle)
    - JDM roof bars
    - JDM flare (I forgot the holder, d'oh!)
    - JDM drivers side mat and mat stay
    - JDM 4WD sun visors
    - JDM Beagle spoiler (mint)
    - JDM third brake light, trim and plug
    - JDM mudflaps (white writing)

And I got this for Craig, as I knew he wanted one..
The under seat storage tray... (not sure if you can put them on driver's side?)

    01062009830.jpg

    Another update tomorrow! :D

    Day 36

Got up early-ish and arrived at the yard around 10pm. Got some more goodies!!
Noticed while I was down there a lot of animal noises, found an ostrich farm, horses, pigs lol...

    02062009833.jpg

I think I pissed off one of the guys, as I got this lot for a good price, when he originally wanted £90, but I knocked him down. I took the mirrors off and the other side light, I only had so much cash on me, so had to leave the bits I actually don't need.

    02062009835.jpg

Took a pic of the holes so I know where to make them. But I think the bumpers have markings on them anyway. EDIT: NO THEY DON'T!

    02062009834.jpg

    Here's what I got today...

    02062009836.jpg

    - JDM headlight washers with tubes and pump (and I think fog wiring?)

    Day 37

Another early start.. not sleeping to well at the moment.

Got a little something in the post... (Carlack 68 Plastic Care)

    03062009851.jpg

Fitted a few things... JDM flare, JDM floor mat and mat stay, front fog and headlight washer switches (in rare piece of trim)...
I don't think I can put the headlight washers on, as I need the expansion bottle too. It's a different shape to compensate the extra pump.
    :(
I could go back and get it...

    03062009853.jpg

New rear door latch trim fitted..

    03062009852.jpg

    JDM 4WD sunvisors fitted..

EE1 and EE4 expansion bottles, ready for the dishwasher!

    03062009848.jpg
    03062009849.jpg

And the bumper... base coat and top coat on, all I need to do now is wait for it to cure 100%, invert the masking, and do the rest 'plastic' black..
