Pandorasbox's 91 RT4WD & Turbo Del Slut

Hello everyone. Seems like a pretty awesome little community here, I recently scored 2 Wagos for very cheap, one being decent shape and worth restoration and the other a heap for parts. The person who had it prior to me just riced the poor thing out bad (mostly under the hood).

Day I bought it (sorry bought the quality, phone pic)

Because the tires were so messed up and worn out I scored a set of 17's to toss on her temporarily, havent decided if I'm gonna keep em on there or not, kinda wanted to stick with something smaller on the Wago but who knows. Please go easy on me, lol, the god awful wipers were from the prior owner.

Here is what my intentions are, slammed and satin black:

The plan is to drop it and paint it in the next couple months. I pretty much have everything lined up already with parts and paint. I do everything myself, so this will be a blast. This is my first AWD drive car. Its gonna be my DD summer/winter. It will be dropped on sleeved coils if I can help it so I can raise it back up in the winter. My buddy has some CRX SI seats ill pick up eventually as well.

The motor is tired. She puffs like crazy and leaks some oil so one of these weekends ill tear the motor out and rebuild it. But long term ideas are either low boost from a turbo or a JRSC. A 14b or Saab T3 would be a lot of fun and pretty much provide me with immediate power but I have never done a SC so that may happen as well, either way the A6 is a great platform to start from.

I want to do something unique with it because I want this to be original so I'm planning on letting my girl and her friend go to town tattooing it in approved places. Should be pretty cool. So in the coming months this thread will get updated with the progress

Its a bucket but it will be sweet soon enough.

Here is my pride and joy:

95 Honda Del Sol
I took this car from a stock Auto delly to a Turbo 5spd on E85. Its been a very fun project and has been by far the best car I've ever owned. I've had her for close to 6 years and started out with aesthetics, not really my thing anymore but oh well, turned out nice anyway. Within the last 2 years I started piecing together a turbo kit and some other sweet mods for it, came up with this.

Hey thanks man guys. My best time was 13.9 at 96mph with a 2.0 60ft, at the time I had some nasty pre-turbo exhaust leaks and it has a DX trans right now so my time should be close to low 13s with shorter gearing and full boost sooner but its still a blast to drive and I get awesome mileage even on E85. Exhaust leak issues were fixed this last weekend as well, full boost by 3700 in 2nd and 3200 in 3rd and holds strong as hell til redline.

Been doing a ton of work in the last few days to get this thing mechanically improved. She smoked like hell when I got it so we replaced the valve seals and it helped a bit but the thing still smokes a bit and smells like a lawn mower, haha. Might just have to rebuild the motor over a weekend or something. We de-riced the engine bay and cleaned quite a bit. Next step is repairing the U-Joints and sorting out the wobble in the middle/rear (ujoints?) as well as getting the exhaust replaced with something that doesn't sound like ricey sh*t. Once the weather cooperates here the cosmetic transformation will start and I'll be repairing the rust and painting.

I kinda like those wheels on your wagon

the bay in the del sol is so damn clean.

    Once again, thanks guys!

So I had my first experience with AWD and snow period and the Wago performed amazing! We got nailed with quite a bit of wet snow and even with balder low profile tires that thing went everywhere! I don't know how much power those viscous couplings transfer but that thing got sideways super easy with some throttle! This is by far the funnest stock car I've ever owned! I can't wait to build it!
  • ...uhmm in case you didnt noticed ...
we cant wait to see some pix and
    updates...yeezzzz... do i have 2
    beg on my knees ?

  • Put the Del sol motor in the wagon and go out rapin they won't see it coming
  • sh1t...there is that wagon again...
    looking the other way...

Hahaha no real updates just yet, almost scored a Z6 for it but it fell through. I gotta do a ton of maintainence to it first and foremost, then she will be ready for the transformation. I gotta rebuild the motor cuz the little beast is smoking pretty bad, cylinder #3 had 29% on a leakdown test so I think its time to freshen the motor up.

LOL @ puting the del slut motor in the wago! You would not believe how many of my boys are telling me that. If I was to do anything it would be supercharge the A6 w/ a decent cam, but thats a little down the road, been too tight on money lately to afford that stuff.

Thanks for the words fellas, I'll snap some more pics soon as I start on the body work, ill be tearing my junker apart pretty quick here and will have to post pics of the carnage, haha
  • oh yeah..

  • idk about the bodykit but the bay is sick
  • pandorasboxpandorasbox New Wagonist
Yeah I wasn't feeling the kit anymore either so its been removed, I just haven't done a legit photoshoot with the car since I pulled it. This image kinda sucks but yeah here is an update of the Sol:

The Wago has a lot more work to do before it will be done but I will have to do updates along the way
  • put a stock hood on it and some different wheels and this car would be perfect
  • pandorasboxpandorasbox New Wagonist
Yeah I wouldn't mind getting some smaller wheels. We shall see, I have a few things in store for the Del Sol, she should be pretty sick by next summer. The wago is gonna get some serious work soon here as well, gotta beat winter though, haha. The wago is gonna be my year round thrasher unless I score some hunk of shit for like $100 thats AWD
  • Tearing the motor down to re-ring the sucker

2 cracked ringlands and 2 burnt and sooted shite pistons later...

So the crazy part is that this sillyass car ran mint! It smoked decent but actually ran and started amazing despite having 2 pistons with broken ringlands and 2 with gouges on the side and all 4 with epic blowby! Only a damn Honda would take all this retarded abuse and still run and get 30mpg!! Lol, I love my cars!

The Del Sol has been cleaned up and slammed now too:

    +1 body kits ftl.
  • Haha thanks guys, yeah I've had the kit for 6+yrs so I grew out of it. It was fun and I dug the look for a while but its time ran out.

  • Nah I completely understand I remember at one point many years ago I really wanted altezzas lol. All that shit was 'in' but now cars with all those stickers and kits and clear tails looks like a car built for 1999 lol.

Clean xcars though, don't usually like del slos but that car looks great with a bay you can eat out of.

Hey thanks man! I really appreciate the compliments! The Del Sol will be recieving a lot of attention this winter and the wago will be ready for the winter within the next month. It may be recieving the turbo on the Sol. I already have most everything to boost it laying around.

    ;)
