starting to clean it up a little. Was planning on putting the coilovers in it this morning. Had to call it off because the bottom rear strut bolts were frozen in place. Really didn't want to snap them off so I torched them. Going to soak them with pb blaster again overnight and they should come off no prob in the morning.
that's "tatortot"
He's runnin the show! That dumbass dog makes me laugh every day!
right on--- they are priceless enertainment..
skeeter and bumpus
One bassett hound is enough work! We had three for about two months (two just showed up at our gate one morning). It was a relief to find the owners.
Good lookin animals!
Damn, haven't even put your suspension on it?
wanted to put it on this morning. I've heard those bottom rear strut bolts like to snap, and that somabitch was stuck tight.
Made it glow red with my torch. hit it with pb this afternoon.
It'll be dropped in the morning.
trust me... it's a priority!!!
Nice ride. I too didn't notice the mini in the background of your photo. I'm planning on building one for my kids (and me, who am I kidding?) in the backyard. Not hijack the thread but can ya tell me its' dimensions and cost? Perhaps in a pm would be more appropriate.
Had it dropped for a little while now. Just been busy. I've got the rt4wd mud flaps to put on. Picked up a DA lip. Wanna paint the bumpers solid black.
My wagons been tucked away in the shop for a few months now. But I finally, am close to getting it back on the road.
I've finally pulled everything together to do the mini-me swap. My first attempt (cause I'm a dumbass) to just slap the used Z6 head failed. Turns out the valve stem seals were worn. It ran great, but smoked at high rpms.
Still waiting to give the machine shop the go ahead on the head rebuild. Been collecting parts to make it all proper before I slap it back together.
I got a p28, conversion harness, new 4 wire o2, z6 intake manifold, arp head studs (a little pricey, but worth it). Been spending some time cleaning up the engine compartment. Trying to figure out what I wanna do with my exhaust.
I painted the wheels black, put a da lip on it, and put the rear mud flaps on right before it went into the shop.
I really look forward to driving it and getting some new updated pics.
Finding time to work on my wagon hasn't been very easy. There's still a lot of work that I'm doing in the bay but it's starting to shape up.
The battery is going back in the bay for now. On down the road I'll prob pick up an xspower batt and put it under the spare tire. Probably get around to that when i swap out the carpet (new carpet just showed up in the mail yesterday).
Sizing up the yakima. This is using the control towers and aerostar roof rails (thanks for the tip bam-bam!)
Decided the wheels will get a stripping and a fresh coat of silver.
Still don't have it all the way going. Doing a mini me head swap, obd0 to obd1 swap, manifold swap, mild tuck, and DA brake/ booster swap all at once = tons of small tedious jobs to take care of. Oh yeah and I did new upper control arms and lower ball joints when I did the spindle swap. I also keep finding little shit that I'm cleaning up along the way. Went ahead and did a chipped p28 from phearable while i was at it. The a6/ z6 mini me should run great on the stock p28 maps. But I'm happy to be ready to tune if/ when I start messing with it. Trying to figure out if i wanna do some all motor upgrades or mabey even an gredddy small turbo.
As far as engine rebuild. The bottom end only has 150,000 on it and is still clean so It's just a head swap for now. The head did get a full rebuild though.
I'm picking up another a6 bottom end I'll slowly rebuild for when this one gets tired.
Decided to totally strip down the paint on the wheels to get the best results out of a repaint.
Had no idea the wheels had a factory polish on the face. Still have to hit them with the aircraft stripper a third time to get the rest of the paint off and then I'm going to give them a full polish.
Leaving the bumper off till I replace the seals in the ac lines. AC blows cold but has a slow leak.

Just like the Japanese cats mimicking USA trends just like we do with JDM shit. "You always want what you can't (don't) have".

Any shots of the motor being built?
