engine has no power

when i start the car it runs fine and after driving it for ten minutes or so the check engine light comes on and i have no power from the motor and in first gear through third the car seems like it hits the rev limiter but its actually not anyone know what my issue can be?

    Man, that could be a whole slew of things.

    For starters, since you're getting a check engine light, what code is it throwing? That would be a very good place to start. Clearly the ECU knows something is wrong and is trying to tell you what it is. Without us knowing that, we're just guessing blindly.

    So check the code and get back to us.
