Im on a week break at the moment from Uni so iv been spending the last few days stripping out the interior of the car and getting it ready to be painted.
The motor should be back in just over a week so i want to have the car full painted and ready to put the motor right back in.
Pics are from an iphone so forgive the quality. Going to start making sure i take photos with the SLR from now on
All the door cards are out and half of the carpet
Removing the rear cargo storage
Removing interior trim
Tail lights are out
Interior full stripped (minus the roof lining)
All the interior parts i removed today
Started a parts room in the spare room, havnt got any photos though.
Thats all for now. Going to take the door handles, window trim, mirrors and harness out tomorrow and get it ready to take to the paint shop. Cant wait till its driving!!
how are you going to go about with the EFI conversion? Like wiring, lines + fuel tank?
Thanks, i have a mate thats an auto elec so im going to give him the diagrams and leave him to it hahaha.
Got my first quote yesterday for a full respray... wanted $3,400. The place does good work but i cant afford that right now. Going to be looking at more places today and hopefully find somewhere that will do a decent job for under $2,500
I know what you mean when it comes to a full respray, I could recommend some places if you were in Sydney. I'm in the process of doing it now and it isn't cheap....
Just food for thought, maybe get a complete wiring harness from NZ? That might makes things a bit easier and quicker.

Buying a loom straight out would probably be an easier option if i could find one. Why do you say NZ, do you know someone with one for sale?
NZ has great import laws meaning a good majority of used Japanese cars were exported to NZ, So most of the wagons running around there should be injected.
Check out places like trademe.co.nz or nzhondas.com.

Found somewhere cheaper to paint the car for 2.5 so saving about a grand. Just gotta wait till end of the month
hey mate im from melb aswell, picking up my RT wagon today same color as yours.
ive only ever seen one white 2wd wagon in melbourne before. good luck with your build. is there a wagon community in melb?

I think i have seen that one advertised somewhere else actually. Nice pick up. Are you driving from Melb to NSW to get it? As for wagons, i live in the south-east and i know of one other guy that has a white wagon. Apart from that one iv only ever seen a couple of 4G's. Not too many of them around i don't think.
Let me know how the car goes, could swap some parts or something maybe
No I picked up the one in springvale, been eyeing it off for 10yrs, a mechanic owned it.
Same color as yours and you may have seen it parked at springvale train station.
I live up in the dandenongs
Update, car got towed to the paint shop yesterday. Not expecting it back till Jan sadly (too broke to pay for paint till Jan).
Motor is back from the machinist tomorrow and starting to be assembled. Ill try and get some photos of that tomorrow.
Also i accidentally stepped on one of my exterior weather stripping pieces and now it has an ugly crease in it. If anyone has a spare (or a set) or any ideas on how i could make a different models part work, please let me know!
Car will be back from paint in the next two weeks. Still waiting on the replacement valve train components because the ones that i got in the mail were slightly too large (springs, retainers).
Apart from that, the motor has been ported and polished and is ready to be put back together

Pm'd you. If you could find a harness that would be great! Thanks
Just got my replacement valve train parts from super tech in the mail. Should have the motor back within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
The last two are pretty similar but the last one gives you a better idea of what the colour looks like.
