1991 RT4WD GOT FOR FREE TODAY!

I was hanging out with my daughter and someone knocked on the door that lives up the street whle walking his dog. He said "do you like Hondas?" Its obvious since I have a few in the driveway. One of them being a 91 Civic Wagon DX. He then asked if I wanted his Civic just like mine(refering to the wagon) I said "You mean it's just like that one 4 door wagon there" He said Yes and I didn't believe him then he said it was the 4WD version and a grin on my face went ear to ear. I asked him how much and he said FREE!. It needs a back passenger side glass and a new head gasket he said. I walked with my daughter to look at it and it has ZERO DENTS and only 1 rust spot on the passenger quarter. 162K miles and has been sitting since 04' :D

...and you didn't even have to go search for it. It fell right into your lap. Any plans for it?
  • The guy stopped by today and dropped by an 89' Civic Service Manual that is like 10lbs and the original 1991 Civic Wagon Owners Manual. I truly feel blessed. I'm having it towed from his house today at some point. I do plan on keeping this and getting it running. I prolly will keep it all stock then eventually sell it after I enjoy it for a little while.

@ I <3 Haters: You should maybe help me find that glass so I can keep weather out of the car from ruining it even tho it's been covered in plastic since it broke the guy said.

More pics to come when I get it here.
  • Damn that's badass!

That's awesome! Better be going over there and mowing some grass or something. That was really nice of him.
  • Ok so heres the question... When we picked it up we had to pick it from the back cause of how it was parked... flatbed would have never had a chance of getting it out anyway. We only went a few blocks with it in neutral and real slow... Whats the chances of me have messing anything up with the trans? We didnt throw dollies on it cause of the distance and it wouldn't have gone in my gravel driveway with them anyway. I'm a little concerned about that now. Noticed the quarter had some more severe rust hiding under the plastic toward the rear too when I got it home today on the one side and the driver side rear door has some about a 2 inch circle bubbling rust too. Cant get the lever to pop the hood either. Not complaining it's in better shape then the one I paid $400 for but I repaired the rust with fiberglass mat and resin on that and it's holding up fine. I want to have this one professionally repaired though if I can afford it.

PS got the tow for free too cause I gave them a 91 hatch I had got tboned in and ripped everything off of it. I just asked if he knew anyone who wanted a scrap metal car and he said "I'll take it for payment of the tow" =]

i wanna live where people are that nice
  • These didn't get transferred in the move. Some more serious rust on the passenger quarters then I thought. I'm hoping some members might be able to help me find some pieces from the passengers quarter so I can weld them in. Also need to come across that passenger side hatch glass. The rest of the car is solid and clean. I want to restore this right. I'm planning on lifting it a lil, repair rust, diff rims and tires, new paint job(thinking same color as bizis wagon), roof rack. Thats about it o.O
