Skitso's 88 DX build

Picked up my Wagon back in February and am absolutely in love with it. Left it stock for about two months and figured it was time to start diggin into the mods. Here it is when I first got it.

And the rust repair began. Start by grinding all the loose rust off the body.

Sanded and bondo'd

Laid down some primer. Ignore my haphazard taping job

Time for paint!

Ignore the left over bondo on the trim.....

Still needs to be buffed in to fully match the color. Over 20 years of dirt and wear on the surrounding paint makes it stand out pretty hard.
But I'm pretty confident I can get it to fade in.
Same day as I painted, I added some Godspeed RS coilovers and BMW bottlecap wheels.

Here is how she sits today

Future plans are to get the bumpers and trim restored and maybe add some paint on those wheels. Then it'll be time for a swap.

The RS coilovers are pretty sweet. I haven't actually measured how far I dropped them, but by the looks of it, I could easily get another inch out of it. They are the 7k/6k rates, which are a little softer than I'd like. Even with the dampening maxed out, it's still got some a little slop to it when cornering sharply. But on the upside, they ride really comfortably, which my girlfriend definitely approves of.
Yeah I love the cream! I'd only ever consider painting it back to this original color. Just a great look on a wagon.
And that's cool about your brother being here. Small world, eh? I'm actually in Goose Creek as well, it's just easier to write Charleston since it's more recognizable. I do feel kinda sorry for him though, as there is absolutely NOTHING to do in this town.
