SadPanda's 87 Wagovan build thread

If you saw my intro then you recognize my 87 wagovan

I suspect it's spent some time in a junkyard due to caked on dirt and decomposed plant matter and then someone decided to bring it back to life and fix up the engine.
Not only did i suspect this but a couple other people I know who know their way around cars (one a mechanic) said i definitely appears that someone had been doing their own work on the car.
Could be worse though. Right now the car has an impacted area on the rear driver side panel between the gas cap and the hatch. At first glance, i was told it was no problem, but upon further inspection, the sub frame was damaged. I decided to continue on despite that and luckily the material used to make the sub frame is some sort of aluminum steel mix and they sell it at home depot so it wasnt as bad as we thought.
The cost i paid is covering new bumpers, new passenger mirror, pretty much any exterior damage, sanding and some more i cant think of ($1k)
At this time, the car is in the process of being sanded down for paint and ready to have the collision damage removed upon arrival of the torch. I guess its a special torch but i didnt quite catch the name of it (plasma?).

Here's more pics of the car as its being repaired

As the process continues, i will be sure to have more

As for the driver side tail light, i bought a new one but it was expensive as hell and had to buy it as a set left and right side.
