**********************************************************

I bought the car back in May of 2008 with ~65,000 miles on it from Lehigh Valley Honda. 2000 Honda Prelude, automatic:

255_659146528004_9350887_48437328_8137_n.jpg

A week or two later I managed to clip a deer on route 80 with it. Barley dented in the front fender, but enough to distroy one of my headlights, so I ended up picking up a set of CFCL angel eyes from the fleabay:

272_676079169854_9350887_49178000_6194_n.jpg

Installed an AEM V2, and an Apexi WS2 exhaust next...

Then Tint!

The stereo system I'll briefly mention, I don't have too many pictures, but the general layout at this point is this:

Farenheit garbage 5.8" Touch screen dvd player
Audiocontrol 2xs Active Crossover Network
Rockford Fosgate P300.2 (Tweeters)
Rockford Fosgate P300.2 (Midbass)
Rockford Fosgate T1000-1bd (Subwoofer)
CDT HD100 Tweeters / Morel MDT 12 Tweeters (I switch between them, havent decided which I like better)
CDT CL-6 Midbass
JBL P1222 Subwoofer

Total RMS is around 2500w, About 140dB on the meter.

So, ran into a snowstorm one day, and the dreaded SS auto transmission failure reared it's head. SO I decided to fix it:

Don't laugh, this transmission was $80 and lasted 2 years

5 speed swap done

24342_10100289917599694_9350887_68604544_7980712_n.jpg

Bought some rims! 17x8 + 35 Konig Lace

About a year later, I started to loose 5th gear on the transmission, and then the crank pulley bolt walked it's way out. I fixed it, but the keyway on the crank was damaged, and I started burning ALOT of oil. I started getting ready to swap in an h22a, and change every seal possible on the motor. Picked up ground control coilovers and tokico shocks as well.

I ended up calling steve @ hmotorsonline, and I couldn't be happier with what he sent me:

Hmotorsonline FTW. You could eat off the thing: ** i'll edit and reorder these later so they make sense**

So, 5th gear grind fixed, motor has excellent compression, runs like a watch...

That's enough for this post. I'll reply to reserve the next two posts for the rest of this, but I'm sure my boss would appreciate me doing actual work instead of rehashing my build thread.

    And there's more!

After the swap, I was offered a free Mizu Radiator from a vendor on the prelude forum I'm on:

    857.jpg
    858.jpg
    859.jpg

Badass radiator. Fans are incredible. There's literally a breeze in front of the car when they come on.

Someone backed into me and thier insurance company decided to buy me a brand new VIS CF hood:

Since the car was mechanically sound, I started work on making it pretty, starting with a WWRS Front Lip and Side Skirts:

    860.jpg
    861.jpg
    862.jpg
    863.jpg

    864.jpg
    865.jpg

So then I got to thinking... I've got an h22a with 210,210,210,210 compression, and more parts started arriving:

    Tial Q BOV
    866.jpg
    867.jpg

    Walbro 255LPH
    868.jpg

    Mishimoto Z-Line Intercooler
    869.jpg

    New battery for the system:
    870.jpg

Tial MV-R Wastegate, this is pictured on my old Mini Me manifold, which I sold to go with the Mini Me EQ from lovefab
    871.jpg

Exhaust parts started coming in... Vibrant Streetpower muffler, Ultra Quiet Resonator, 3"
    872.jpg

    Competition Clutch Stage 4
    873.jpg

    Precision 880cc Injectors, low impedance
    874.jpg

    Innovate LC-1
    875.jpg

    Fast-Turbo Oil feed/Return Lines:

    Ebay IC piping kit:

    Kteller 3" Piping kit:
    878.jpg

    SNAIL!
    879.jpg

So now, Just had to put it all together. We started with the 3" exhaust and changing the clutch, hooking it up as a cat back until I could get the rest of things together:

    881.jpg
    882.jpg
    883.jpg
    884.jpg
    885.jpg

This will present a problem in the future...
    886.jpg

Here's a clip of the exhaust:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hIMvdpgRlRg

Threw the fuel pump in as well, not too much exciting stuff there, just a fuel pump.

Got my hondata s300, and my B&R fittings catch can setup as well.
    [img][/img]http://i573.photobucket.com/albums/ss18 ... G_0727.jpg

Once the exhaust was in, the manifold finally showed up:

Some other random parts, IAB gaskets, silicone vaccum hose, turbo timer with wideband display... yada yada yada...

    887.jpg
    888.jpg

    Started mounting the intercooler:

    889.jpg
    890.jpg

Had to ditch AC sooner or later:
    891.jpg

Then, I got the email from lovefab that my manifold was done...

    892.jpg
    893.jpg

    And then it showed up!
    894.jpg
    895.jpg
    896.jpg

Decided to test fit the manifold, and of course, lovefab half assed the thing. Mounting holes didn't line up, had to sit there with a die grinder and fix it. Along with a bunch of slag left in the manifold. For a $600 manifold, the thing should have been spotless. Won't be buying a thing from them ever again. Either way, got the manifold installed with the turbo and everything, and immediately noticed a problem.

    897.jpg

No way I can keep that front crossmember. Thankfully, Innovative was nice enough to get me a traction bar made. Had to reschedule a tune, but oh well.

    Installed the catch can...

    898.jpg

And properly mounted it. Goodbye EVAP system.

    899.jpg
    900.jpg

Had the alternator go out on me randomly. Guess the 2400w RMS finally cooked that little sucker. High output will happen down the road:

    901.jpg

Had some motor mount issues too... Especially without a front mount I wanted to beef them up. 75a bushings

    902.jpg

Then, I went home to get the car ready... starting with that front crossmember.

    903.jpg
    904.jpg
    905.jpg

So that's done, time to start the plumbing.

    906.jpg

My buddy Ray and his trusty angle grinder:
    907.jpg

Some other random pics of final assembly, I don't like how close the oil feed sits to the manifold, so I ordered a 45 degree fitting.

    908.jpg

    3" downpipe completed:

    909.jpg
    910.jpg
    911.jpg

Blurry pic of my oil return line:
    912.jpg

Welding on the intercooler piping, all TIG, done by a friend with 40+ years behind the shield. He's truley a master at what he does:
    913.jpg
    914.jpg

Unfortunatley, this is where the thread ends for the moment.

I was missing a 90 degree silicone coupler for the charge piping leading to the intercooler, combined with the oil fitting issue, and not having a 15 degree bend for the screamer pipe to clear the slave cylinder, I had to leave the car at my parents house until I can get those parts.

Oh wait, they're here. As of today, 4/26/12

    915.jpg
    916.jpg

Power goal is 350hp, and it will be at evans tuning on my birthday, may 8th, to finish the build.

Yeah, not everyone likes em. Which is fine, because it's not everyone's car. It's mine.

To each thier own as I always say, but I'm excited to have another honda to toy around with. I hope my wagon comes out half as good as the prelude and I think i'll be alright.

Thanks man, I appreciate it. It's been countless hours, weeks, months, and years getting the car to this point.

Hopefully it hits my power goal on the dyno, or at least close.
  • I recognize this stud of a car. This Prelude/Wagon thing is awesome.

Figure a small update is in order.

In 7 days, I'll be back to working on the lude, and it hits the dyno on may 8th. Hopefully I don't run into any more snags.

Only concern I have is the fuel injectors properly sealing on the IM. I primed the fuel pump and it seemed fine, but I won't know anything until I actually try to start the car on a basemap and see if fuel is spraying anywhere out of the IM.
