That was to just make people happy.

1990 Honda Civic Wagon EE2 5 Speed
Background:
So this wagon is a beauty. I bought her about maybe two weeks ago. I am the third owner. The couple that first owned the wagon also bought an RV and didn't really use it. It has a total of 125k ORIGINAL miles. When they sold it to the last owner (turned out being one of my moms friends) the RV had 40k miles on it. So pretty much the wagon was dragged for 40k right? = (. They, as well as the last owner kept this wagon like extremely clean. Neither the older couple or the last owner had kids so no one used the back seats. They're all still hard! =*)Everything on this thing is so brown and back and i love it! In and out!
This wagon is so clean. I even have the original owners manual. Everything was kept stock on this thing beside the wheels. It has a sweet original Orange County Honda license plate holder i want to restore the white letters on.
Interior is all original has no rips and is super super clean! (CLEAN IS GOING TO BE OVERUSED BECAUSE THIS THING IS SO CLEAN).

The last owner didn't do any modifying to it just added a few things. So when i bought this wagon it already had a few things i wanted to do with it (a plus? kinda).
Thule Bike rack
Stock Height! (i think i wanna keep just because I'm gangster like that)
NGK Spark plugs
Eg hood bra (it looks pretty good i think)
15' Rota RB's
New Kumho all weather tires
Wink Mirror
All four Mudflaps (Look New)
Trailer Hitch in front (it makes it look like a bull)
stereo with new front speakers and aux cable

Things i plan on doing:
Remove stickers on visor thing (i kinda did some but how do i properly remove them)
remove stock rear view mirror owner left it on when he put wink
Repaint trailer hitch
Get a tow hook
repaint rb's
Rear speaker pods if i can find cheap
restore license plate letters? or maybe get a new one
fix the door trim molding its like flaking off? (anyone know how to fix)
try to re shine exhaust up its kinda browing up?
find a rear wiper blade handle thing
get a bike rail for the rack

Things I've done already:
-removed all the armor all on the bumpers and bra because it was attracting dust and making it look ugly
-added a new seat belt inline fuse with wire because it was missing the passenger side one.
-Polished up the wheels lip a bit.
-fixed the e-brake light because it was always on. it just needed brake fluid.
-added rain x wiper fluid
-removed some stickers off fairing
-fell in love with it

All in all I kinda really want to keep it stock and as clean as possible because it looks really nice i think.
If anything i want to put a small turbo just for fun but try to keep it hidden or something maybe down the line.
(^ knowing me ill probably do it as soon as i get money for it -___-)
I drove it around a bit and loved it but i got scared, I got license suspended =( so i wont be driving it to much right now. But i love the way it feels, more then the ek i had before. So ill post up more pics soon and ill add stuff as soon as i do it.

Oh by the way her name is Ginger and I love her! Named her that because shes brown and to piss off my gf (she actually fell in love with her when she saw it and was super completely jealous, my gf lives in cal state la so I'm going to be driving her up there every now and then so if anyone in the LA area or Santa Ana area hit me up about meets and stuff)

  • Killer wagon!, looks really nice. let the stickers warm up and peel as much off as you can then good ole goof off to get the residue.
with the trim- trim paint from autopart store works nice. "i like satin black paint" from homedepot but it takes coats to get a nice satin.
    welcome so cal er.

    *Update*
-Put on a basket i found at a garage sale for two bucks!
    439.jpg
    440.jpg
-i Needed to get it smogged so instead of just getting a muffler (since i broke the last one)
I went ahead and just went to a shop and had them put in 2 1/2 inch piping after the cat all the back and a maganflow straight through muffler.
    441.jpg
    442.jpg
-Also took off pedal covers and put grip tape (OMG MY FEET NEVER SLIP NOW), and its amazing how much better it feels.
    443.jpg

Just painted the letters on my tires with white wall touch up paint i think it came out pretty good

    -Finally lowered my car
2 front springs are some cheap generic ebay crap- maxed
2 rears springs are like ground control replicas - halfway lowered
-Wired my bumper lights to my corner lights so they always stay on and blink as well (soon to do sidemarkers too)
-I saw sohc my wagon's how he put "Shuttle" in the rear brake like at the small meet we did at the Westminster mall and i tried it out but i put "Swagon" instead came out decent, but i used plastidip instead of regular paint incase i messed up
-I went to tab tuesday meet and i put a deer on the car for shits and giggles so heres a shot before i left that day
-put on a jetta lip, goo thing i bought two because i had to add a peice in the middle
-i made a rear hatch cover but its not done, will post pictures later

  • Look at you taking my style lol jk looks good we need another meet soon.

Nice clean wagon you got there. If a muffler "shop" welded my muffler on crooked, you'd be damned sure they would be redoing it before I left!
  • pelon921pelon921 New Wagonist
@sohc my wagon, don't think of it as copying, your more like influencing bro hahah
@layspeed, i actually went back because they welded it to low and it would bottom out at stock height  , so i had them raise it up a good two inches since the first time, it does sit a little crooked but i think it looks kinda cool gives it some atttitude hahah, im actually thinking of redoing it myself sometime, because they didn't want to weld it over the subframe because the Maganaflow would sit pretty much touching the gas tank. I had the idea of like hiding it so all u see it a pipe coming out... im still thinking of idea

    Pelon -
I did the same thing as your exhaust, and it works great! The sound is way improved, and I am sure that there is some kind of benefit in the hp department. I don't know where you found this stunning example - there are only beaters here in CO!
    - Rob
  • pelon921pelon921 New Wagonist
Im curious to see how u did it robert did u have to take anything off the subframe or put something so it wouldn't be bouncing around and hitting anything?
Trust me i had to look hard for a wagon in general... i gave up once but i got back on it and finally did find it!

Wouldn't the best thing to do be to swap a new transmission?
  • pelon921pelon921 New Wagonist
That would be a less fun solution to my problem though!
I told myself if one thing fails on the single cam ima just go b series.
Im almost done pulling the motor out, all I need to do it....literally pull the motor out, i just don't have a cherry picker.
Everything is out just sitting on the tranny mount and drivers side mount, maybe ill finish Friday or hopefully tommarow!
My problem is... well i don't have a motor yet lmfao!

lol, trans blew up!? My first car, an '87 integra lost its 5th gear on the highway. I drove it with 4 gears for months while saving money for a ZC swap and new trans. Good luck on the B-series swap, I just started mine also. And if you teat down the D-series to just the block you can easily lift it out of the engine bay without a hoist. Or remove the radius arms and just let it drop out of the bottom.
  • pelon921pelon921 New Wagonist
    Yes like literally exploded....
The guy that was selling me a complete B17 GSR swap for 1300 bailed at the last second, when i had everything pulled out already...
So now im just looking for the trans, and i actually CANNOT find any on Craigslist for the past two days and i need a car!
Also i couldnt get the intake manifold off, that thing is like cemented on there so i just pulled it out like that, had to remove exhaust and ac stuff
  • LayspeedLayspeed Wagonist
That's a shame you're not local as I'm pulling out the D15 today from my wagon and I'd give it to you. I even have a friend who has a couple D trans. Good luck though.
  • pelon921pelon921 New Wagonist
Dang Layspeed wish u were around here!!!!!!
hahah i ended up getting a used SI tranny for 50 bucks, and actually met another wagon owner.
The clutch was pretty chewed up but i decided to leave it in.
The only thing now is my gears are still really stiff, and i cant figure it out for the life of me!

what kind of feet you using with the square bars for your roof rack
  • pelon921pelon921 New Wagonist
I don't have the actual part number, but they are the right pads for the wagon. The original owner bought the whole Thule set.
