Daily D RT! 1990 cappuccino wagon

So i got my wagon about 2 years ago in CO from the original owner his son got backed into and the family project ended up just sitting over time due to college and what not so i scored it for 675. Jumped it and drove 30 miles back home. It only took me about 200 to get it to what it looks like now and in running condition. After some headache with losing the title the original owner got me another title and signed it over again and after i get it registered my landlord gives me the original title back and said she found it in the snow 2 months previous. I got to enjoy my wagon for a couple months before leaving for boot camp in spring 2010 and now finally get reunited with her in my new duty station in guam. since leaving her she has aquired some new dents and miles from my sister as well as parts from my father in law.
so far the water pump timing fluids and wind shield have been replaced. after driving around for a couple days my daily driver is now just sitting i have yet to figure out what the problem is my father in law said he had to keep spraying contact cleaner on the alternator plug from CO to TX before shipping cuz of corrosion but it hasn't worked for me the car cranks and will occasionally after numerous attempts to start turn on but within seconds just die. i have tried revving it once it starts but also it will die out. i changed the plugs, wires, done contact cleaner as well as dielectric lubricant on the alternator plug any inputs or anybody have similar problems. Im going to have to put off some things till i figure this out.

Im sure some people have seen these pics before from my introduction.

  • Sounds like the fuel pump relay. VERY common and easy to fix.

Yeah I was searching on here after I posted my thread and I was thinking I might try to replace that but the main relay and the fuel pump relay are the same one if I understand correct and located above the hood latch? Just the other day it started up after work took it to the mechanic they were closing so I drove to work the next day no problem then after work it would just crank with no start. And then this morning I got to work tried it and it fired up fine.
  • This is a good video on how I fixed the relay problem in my car. The relay is under the drivers dash. Its two realys in one box. I think the box is brown and is held in by a 10mm bolt high up in the dash. If you know how to solder you can do this on your own.
As the weather gets hot or cold the bad/cracked solder connection expands and contracts. The crack will be VERY small. If you can't solder then just buy a remanufactured one off of Ebay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=viIZ8k60awY

So got my starting problem fixed with relay drove for a while but now im losing power in 2nd and 3rd gear after a stop
or sometimes times in the middle of driving. it wont die right away. ill have my foot on the gas and it just cuts out fuel response and sometimes goes back immediately and sometimes just coasts then stalls. Im gonna have to get it checked this week. but any input would be appreciated.

in the meantime since its parked

had time after the beach today and my maroon accord armrest didn't match my interior anyway so I made it a little more to my liking
