with my old bumper..i can still use it but its a little banged up

    217.jpg

still waiting on the fender then ill be good to go on the body..need to line up the hood and put the corner light/ headlight in after i get the fender.

after that is all done i just need to figure out the motor problem..i checked the ecu and when i turned the key the light only blinked once then didnt blink anymore so im thinking its not a electrical problem..has to be mechanical
  • Fuel pump is dead.

I had this EXACT same issue.

Check your #14 fuse. If its popped, replace, turn key if it pops the fuse that's it.
  • The problem I had:

I got mine in non running condition. Guy had no clue what was wrong.
Replaced a bunch of stuff. Alternator, battery, distributor, starter, radiator, etc

    The whole shebang.

Anyway, I tried starting it up but it wouldn't fire, it would turn but no fire/spark?
I checked the ecu. When I turned the key the light wouldn't blink at all.

I checked my fuses and one was blown (#14) I put in a new one and tried again, it blinked once and then the fuse popped again? Wth?

Turns out that fuse controls the main relay/fuel pump/ecu.

So if the pump is bad it returns the current/pops fuse so not to damage anything yadda yadda.

Either way, I replaced my fp. Put in ANOTHER fuse and tada I was u and running! (Once I replaced the distributor..)

Long story short, id check there. Hope this helped in someway. G'luck!
  • mine wont even turn over tho =/ i turn the key and the motor makes no noises doesnt even try to move so im not sure if its the fuel pump but i guess it wouldnt hurt to check..ill look over all my fuses in the e-bay and under the dash to be sure

I had the same problem... try starting it while someone sprays carb cleaner into the intake. Mine turned on and then died immediately. Fuel pump!
  • Well it sucks I just recently sold that new Walbro fuel pump I had lol
  • so i posted on d-series.org about what the motor is doing(or lack there of) and they said to check the button that gets pushed when you push in the clutch because the plastic piece that pushes it in might have broke when i slammed on the clutch and brakes..so im going to check it out and push the button and try and start it so hopefully thats all it is!
  • I put a 10mm bolt in mine and backed out the switch a little
  • i looked under there a bit ago but i couldnt see any switch or prong that pushes a switch..where about should i be looking? right behind the clutch?

Rubber numby piece that is used for the brake pedal and clutch pedal - 46505-SA5-000

I usually buy two or three at a time.

clutch pedal, brake pedal and one as a spare.

I replaced mine on the brake pedal with a bolt. No more replacement needed! I found plastic bits & pieces in the floorboard one day and had to trace them down. That, and my brake lights were on draining my battery. Keep in mind, this one is on my brake pedal arm. My car is automatic, so no clutch, but I imagine it would be in about the same place. Bolt/plastic button is on the arm its self & switch is mounted under the dash. (Nevermind my dust and dog hair, haven't cleaned under the dash since I bought it :P )

best part is they were free! got two just need to pick up the other two today :)
  • Ok so did some work on the wago today.. My buddy came over and stuck a wire on the starter.. It worked fine but motor wouldn't turn over.. We took the starter off to see if it engages and touches the fly wheel.. Tried it on the battery but no luck didn't do anything so tomorrow I'm going to run to advance and get them to test it for me.. Also checked the motor and it turns freely so it's not locked up.. Checked the dizzy and it looks fine and looks new.. Tried a brand new batt but still no luck(before we took starter off) so hopefully it's just the starter. Also checked all fuses they are good.
  • The contacts inside the starter are large copper pieces, and over time they errode to the point that they no longer make contact to start the motor turning. It's about $5 in parts and about 10-15 minutes to swap them out once the starter is removed from the car. Take the stamped metal cover that's held on with phillips head screws off the back of the starter. The contacts are under there.
  • Awesome thanks for the info jaker I'll try that out to see if it helps
