Fathoe's Shuttle..

After months of searching for a car i finally found exactly what i wanted, and it just so happened to be a 1989 Honda Civic Shuttle.

It runs great, much more than i was expecting for NZD$900. All it needs now is a warrent of fitness (you need one these to legally drive your car on the New Zealand roads).

This last week ive just been fixing the little things that it needed to get a WOF, now i need to get some rust cut out and a new exhuast fitted.

Ive already got a set of rims and tyres at my girlfriend's mum's house, and some adustable suspension for both front and rear in my bedroom which i plan to fit as soon as the shuttle gets its WOF.

Heres a few photos of how it looked when i got it..

maybe use some thinners? put some on a clean rag and apply it on yr window visors?
  • FATHOEFATHOE New Wagonist
Oh right.. nah haha im not registered on nzhonda.. yet :)

Ahh right, there's a couple people on there looks for shuttles, thought they might have been you.

There's lots more shuttle info on this site, but if you want to buy EF parts or wheels etc, they will be on NZHondas quite frequently :)

Okay thanks! Im trying to find something that will not damage the plastic!
  • danzdanz Wagonist
paint thinner will be fine. wipe it on kinda wet then wipe it off with a clean rag. should take any new paint right off. the plastic will be fine. you could even wipe it with soapy wash cloth after to make sure no thinner stays behind.
  • really nice work hope i could find visors also soon but really good job

  • FATHOEFATHOE New Wagonist
Im using VHT spray aswell, it works quite well, definatly not as good as new carpet... but a whole lot cheaper, easier, and funner.. im happy with the way it turned out, thanks repco :)

Carpet looks good, Did you get your exhaust fixed? I have most of a factory system and a a welder if you wanted to pop over and check it out?
  • FATHOEFATHOE New Wagonist
Cheers, not yet but im going to take it out to pitstop in hendo when i get the time, a mates suggested them if i wanted a cash job. Thanks anyway though, i want it tucked quite high, very discrete. I have a welder at home, but i wouldnt trust myself welding it up haha.

Ahh.. my carbies started screwing up yesterday... one of the jets was blocked up from stuff getting through the fuel filter, one more reason to do a b swap sooner! :) hopefully by the end of the week ill have a WOF... which means i can slam it on my rims. :D ill post up a pic of what i got, i dont have a photo of my ones but its enough to get the idea.
  • FATHOEFATHOE New Wagonist
Apparently these were the last set left :)
  • danzdanz Wagonist
does your wagon run a feedback carb with an o2 sensor?

ive always wanted to do a carbed setup... maybe use the dual sidies off the SOHC ZC motors in some CRX's
