Finally got a wagon bumper!! Taped up the lights then things got out of hand... eventually ended up with carefully fabricated cardboard roof spoilers and bumper canards for that time attack look!
Why I can't lower my car:
I have to show them muddin' boys whats up.
I'm gonna clean her up and go to a Carolina Meet across town, should be big.
Went to the Carolina Modified Society meet last night. There was a nice turnout, an imported Nissan Gloria, a newer NSX, one very highly modified Spoon track-ready S2000, a Nissan Z crew of 20+, one wagon other than mine, a nice early 80s 200sx, and of course dozens of integras, civics, and preludes. Only one appearance from law enforcement for a mustang not associated with our meet (fortunately!).
Anyways... tomorrow morning we're heading over to Carolina Motorsports Park for an autocross. Not running the wagon but I'm gonna go watch a couple friends with miatas race street prepared.
I will begin stripping the wagon this week because I wanna see what I can remove or modify easily.
In other news, the autocross went well. The red miata placed second in it's class but my other friend's turbo was having tire problems with the super-hot-track plus the 10psi upgrade gave him a lot of slip. Had fun on the way home, however.
looking good mate, but i still think you should lower her stance = the way forward
Thanks! Ha yea I thought about it today because I'm getting a little tired of cleaning all this red clay from the fenders and bumpers anyways. It'll make me learn new ways to drive over certain obstacles which would be fun I suppose.
A couple shots from our Carolina Modified Society meet:
Annnnnd the wagon as it sits now:
The graffiti might be painted over and redone and I need to find a time to strip the interior and clean it out. Summer should open up tons of opportunities since I'm graduating high school in 2 days! W00T!
I got a 5 panel wink mirror today for $20 at Pep Boys and installed it and I can say that they must have been made for the wagon because it's the perfect size I'll put pictures up if anybody wants to see. I got a bunch of money for graduation and I'm hoping since I'm getting a job over the summer that I'll be able to invest a lot of it into the wagon and get my 5speed/mpfi FINALLY! In the meantime, I'll be doing cheap mostly cosmetic mods unless I get some stuff at Pull-A-Part for da cheapness.
BTW are there any wagon owners who also own a Miata? 5 of my friends (all of my car friends) currently own one, or will own one in the next couple days and I was wondering if you would choose your wagon over your Miata (or anybody who likes both of them really).
and of course dozens of integras, civics, and preludes.
Dozens of preludes?!?! I was told the carolinas don't have many preludes plus preludes are definitely not as common as civics and integras.
Nice car though, I need to find a wagon to buy.
You were told very wrong sir, there are in fact too many Preludes in the Carolinas, well Columbia at least. Most are riced out, but I see more modded Preludes than I do modded Integras.
It should be soon when I can finally start getting down to business.
I went to Pull-A-Part today and picked up a pm5 ecu and an '88 wagon gauge cluster with no PRND... I got the pm5 because I'm probably going to have the dual point for a little while after the swap to get my multi-point parts together. Do I need a pm6 or can I use the pm5 with a d16a6? I'm getting most parts from an '88 ef four door. I need to check which transmission I have to make sure but will all trans mounts, shift linkages, etc. be interchangeable with the wagon and with any d-series transmission?
No progress since I'm down in Beaufort until Tuesday.
However, my buddies and I repainted my hood but I didn't think of how much paint I would need...
Ended up using a matte black and a gloss black which looked horrible so I used an old Darth Vader stencil on the gloss section and I think it looks pretty "hood".
I'll have pics up when I get back.
I'm beginning to strip the interior to remove the sound deadening and restore all the carpet.
Also second Carolina Modified Society meet went down tonight pretty well. One wagon other than myself was there and a few nice EF's and other "JDM" cars. Pictures will be up soon.

and you will need a PM6 ECU if you are going to run MPFI.
