DUDE!!! I saw this parked in lakewood by emerald city smoothie a couple days ago! looks good man, remember me? you bought my old struts haha SOO CLEAN IN PERSON
I know man, I saw you! I work right there at the garlic jims. I was on the phone so I couldn't go outside. Come in ill give you a good deal on some pizza!
I am still running the struts, they're doin pretty good with extended top hats!
Ya gotta take pics it started raining and dark when I finished.
Ill keep my eyes open for the pics. If I remember right you said a buddy was gonna weld them on for you?
So I pull away from my house today and I hear a crash from the hatch area, and then the psshhhhttt of a hatch strut.
Turns out my 2 month old O'reily hatch strut snaps off at the stud. It is broken off super deep in the threaded hold in the hatch. I have no idea how I am gonna get it out.
The parts have lifetime warranties but I don't know if I want to replace something that is gonna cause such a headache to remove.
Searched forever and surprisingly tirerack.com had the best price and shipping.
Kind of sucks because H&R North American headquarters is here in Bellevue, WA but they only sell through a distributor business model.
From what I can find these will allow massive adjustment with great ride quality. They are really popular with the VW guys but pretty rare for Hondas. I was deciding between these and PIC Selects.
Next on the list is bushing set and or a quick release setup for my fake Nardi wheel.
Coilovers finally came in. Took forever because North America H&R doesn't keep them in stock.
From the time I ordered them till now I hit a huge bump on the freeway (hadn't been on that highway in years, didn't see it coming) and I think I bent something. It pulls to the left now under throttle and when turning.
So I'd like to fix whatever is broken before upgrading the coilovers but I am not really sure what to do.
I can't see anything that looks bent to my untrained eye. I don't want to just take it to an alignment shop to be told they can't align it because something is broken.
I'd like to just replace the original stock suspension components (control arms, camber arms etc) but I also don't want to just start throwing parts at it.
So I get pulled over a lot. Followed 2-3 times a week on my way home from work.
I had a brake light out so he had a real reason this time I guess. I replaced all the bulbs in the rear of the car today. Cost about $25.
One of the far outer ones (the tiny ones) had melted the ballast to the bulb. That took forever to get off without breaking the bulb.
I finally got the broken stud out of the hatch from my broken hatch strut. As you can see from the pics most of the stud was threaded in.
It was pretty challenging because it was below flush with the hatch surface. This is why I got the lifetime warranty ones.
Great thread bro! I'm actually very impressed with how that carpet came out! Is it still holding up well? Do any of the plastics you shot scratch easily? I've had decent luck with the fusion but I think it's too shiny IMO, I had a black bronco with the horrid red interior awhile back and shot everything, with proper prep and full removal, black with the fusion paint. It was too glossy to be mistaken as stock, but yours looks great! Much mlre subtle, I will definetly use the VHT if I shoot plastic anything.
You talking about the weird dirt in your wagon, if it was from Oklahoma or nearby we've got what is known as Oklahoma red dirt. ...and that stuff gets EVERYWHERE! ...and it will stain just about anything it is allowed to stay in contact with. lol

Hope the motor mount fixes your pull!
Well since it was my first time I would do a few things different
I have driven about 10k miles and it's been a year and I deliver pizza in it. It is holding up great for that much abuse. What I would have done different:
-sprayed more where you can see when the carpet is installed and worry less about under the seats and stuff
-used oem size floor mats, I have 06 Civic floor mats and while they look nice, they are too big and they rub the dye off.
The only plastic that is really worn off is on the B-pillar where the seat belt hits when it retracts, and the DC2 center console because it doesn't fit with the inner seat belts. Both of those items can be found in black though.
It does look shiny and not OEM but I kind of like it.

Man you are the first person to really know what I am talking about. I changed all my rear bulbs the other day and it was caked on everything, and still somehow got on everything!
I just need an aftermarket steering wheel hub and I'll be ready to put my wheel and slim NRG quick release on
Does anyone know if Suspension Techniques DA rear sway bars are the same as CRX? I found one for sale and want to know if it'll solve my problem of trying to ghetto-ify a rear sway setup from OEM parts?
I need help guys. I was assembling my H&R coilovers and I ran into a snag.
I know I need to reuse my tapered OEM washer in the top of the pic. I do not know how to use the larger washer on the left that was included with my coilovers.
It is flat and level, so I do not think it replaces the tapered washer, the center hole is not large enough to slide over the tapered part of the strut.
I could call H&R but they have been surprisingly unhelpful so far with other questions I had. (spring rates and which ones go in front and rear)
bump for another blue wagon owner. I was thinking of painting my interior too and changing it to black but I donthave the time if I had another car I would. But I cant wait to see what she looks like... I will be looking back at your work man, great job!
Man, im digging your thread. I didn't know we had such similar tastes haha. I like the way yours sits in the pics . I hope mine looks that good when I drop it. I wanna see pics of the interior! Did you get the steering wheel put on yet?

thanks for the compliments, I will try to take some pics of the interior and new quick release setup this weekend at the Honda-Tech meet.
The interior isn't really dirty with dirt, but it is full of flour from work, when I am off and sit down in my car, a giant cloud flys in the air.

One cool thing about the interior work is if you have a dedicated work space indoors, you can just drive with no interior and just work on it piece by piece.
finally got my coilovers installed and took some night photos. I need to get someone to take some real pictures. these are a crappy point and shoot and I have no idea what im doing.
Right is great compared to the blown oem struts I was using. I will post more pics later of how much lower the coilovers can go.
The biggest difference is the massive reduction in body roll. I can go 70+ around turns I used to slow down to 50 for.
Sometimes at work I have to deliver, other wise I would lower it more.
Yeah its about time, I was sick of swapping out less blown struts than what I had on.
My exhaust already scraped. I need to get a new custom set up as mine is almost disintegrated now.
I have to do brakes next mine are getting weak. I have a new OEM 15/16'' master cylinder, 01 Acura CL calipers custom machined to fit DX knuckles, goodridge stainless lines, and 11'' rotors
after that I plan to just keep focusing on suspension, hard race rubber bushings, suspension techniques rear sway bar, extended balljoints, and see if I get brave enough to cut my shock towers lol
But I am also really tempted to blow my money on a S2K cluster

I am getting up the courage to cut them haha. I checked your build thread but didn't see pics of the covers? I need pics!
I really wanted to go to Honda-Tech but I worked a couple weeks straight due to problems at work.
I saw a few pics of your car in the pic thread on Honda-Tech.

Picked up a NRG Slim Quick Release today for a great deal
Took a few crap photos of the H&R's
Waiting to figure out what I bent or screwed up on my suspension before I put them on

Driver side motor mount was ripped slightly I think, and it got worse yesterday.
I am gonna grab one from the junkyard tomorrow hopefully and see what I can do. If it fixes it I'll go ahead with the H&R coilovers.
Hope the motor mount fixes your pull!

They came unassembled so I am kind of stuck.

Im the one getting the extremely large tophats

What's next? You scape a ton? Or mostly muflaps?

I ended up raising mine since it was scraping so bad
the ride was "ok" with stock susp, but not good enough.
If you end up doing the cluster mod make a build thread so I can learn >=]
haha don't tempt me! you said you had one for sale if I remember right? at the wagon meet?
I'll definitely make a thread
