Str8shooter's Rt4wd Wagon

Here it is. Just picked it up a few weeks ago.

It's all stock, besides the terrible "paint job", my crx wheels, and a few zipties here and there.

6-speed RT4WD also.

Oh yeah, these pictures suck. Iphone ftl...

After a day of owning the car, it wouldn't start when I was leaving work....Got it all fixed. Now I know why the guy I bought it from supposedly put a new fuel pump, fuel filter, distributer cap and rotor, etc.. in it. Stupid Main relay....

Funny story: After I handed the former owner the cash, he says I should put some Lucas fuel injector cleaner in it since the injectors aren't working that great. And stay off the highway, because the injectors will be firing really fast and it might mess them up!

The real reason was because the terrible tires and mismatched wheels made the car shake violently at highway speeds. Good thing I have plenty of extra wheels and tires. Swapped the crx wheels on and presto! No more shaking!

A few days later I'm at work, slow day, I decide to pull the wagon in to check the underside. And what do I find?.....

A 2WD axle in my 4WD wagon! It wasn't even close to fitting! Whoever put it in there is an idiot.

So, a couple hours later and a visit from theRedWagon, I now have a 90 Integra passenger side axle in my wagon. Works great! And no more of what I had thought was the clutch slipping. It was the axle being eaten alive by the differential.

With the trip to IFO, I became very annoyed with the exhaust rattle and lack of muffler on the wagon. So this morning I has Cass at Aadvance Muffler weld on an axle back that I had laying around (the one that cost me 8whp on my hatch). I can hardly hear it anymore! And got a little more low end power to boot.

Today I swapped on my snowflakes and realized that my front passenger side wheel bearing was all sorts of bad... So I left work early and swapped on a spare si front spindle I had that just so happened to have an almost brand new bearing in it. Now everything is back together and it fixed my shaking issue between 45-65 mph.

Surprisingly! The passenger fender has a dent, and there is a small dent right behind the rear driver side door. Most importantly, NO RUST! :)

Interior is ok. I'm looking to have all of the seats re-covered at some point.

I kinda expected it when I asked him how much he wanted for the car and he says, "make an offer." hahaha

Tons of fun! I'm not such a big fan of the paint, so I'm thinking about doing something.....different. Maybe truck bed liner. I don't know yet.

Forgot to mention... I swapped the coilovers from my hatch onto the wagon.

And the red hood is so I have the ability to use a driver's side windshield wiper. The sortafit hood just wouldn't allow it.

Had a sweet tornado outbreak in and around OKC! Thank goodness the wagon made it through!

  • Slight update: The wagon is now back on stock suspension for the winter and it's just waiting for the snow to come. School has been very busy this semester with no time to work, so during the next semester when I start working more, I'll start restoring this wonderful wagon.

I purchased some near mint condition front and rear seats, rear carpet, and all door panels from Wisconsin and had them shipped to my door. Everything but the door panels are installed.

Also did some serious off-roading this weekend. Went through some stuff that a suburban was afraid to go through... Lol.

Looks good, and like it has been some fun for you!
  • You bought a wagon after me, and you get to drive yours before. Just not fair. :P

Well, it's way past the start of the year so I should probably update this... lol.

First off, I gave away my Civic Tape-R to LowFlyin' as a dirty santa gift; now it's a lemons race car. I got another hatch, so the suspension came off the wagon and back onto a hatch.

I've been daily driving the wagon since I got it, and just recently I decided to make it a more capable wagon adventure machine! :) So, some crx si wheels with snow tires and a lift in the front was in order. I used 94-01 integra front struts/springs/wishbones on the front. I had to use a hammer to provide a slight bit of extra room on the frame, and had to grind a nipple off of the spindle. Now, for my next project, I'll have to level the car in the rear somehow.
