Swedish Honda Shuttle 4wd -89

Hi!

bought a Honda Shuttle 4wd a few weeks ago. it was originally white, but it has been repainted with spraycans in a home mixed green color.

in the first two pics you can see the Galant front lip i've mounted.
the last pic is with my new rims. but it's taken before i lowered the car.
gonna put some more pictures up when i have the car back together. i promise the car will be cleaner on those

i also own a CRX Vtec. Since it's too rusty to ever be a good looking car i decided to take some parts from it to put on my Shuttle.

so far i've taken K-sport coilovers, Legende front brake callipers (including the wheelhub or whatever it is called?), rover brake disks and a Galant front lip from the CRX.

the brakedrums in the bak where so rusty it was impossible to bleed them. at the moment i'm looking for the brakeshields and drums. was hoping to find a company that sells brakeshields.
if someone has any tips please tell me!

i hope i can keep this thread! this is not a want to buy thread even thou I would be happy for some tips on where to find some stuff!

looks like hatchback wing modified to fit wago

yeah the color is nice! but the paintjob is shit! the car looks great at a distance. but when you look closely you see a lot of things that isn't done right. I'm afraid it's gong to be all rusty in 6 months. hopefully I have someone who can help me with the bodywork and a new paintjob.

don't really know what car the wing is from. But I know it's not a EDM Shuttle wing. Like BillBoard's saying it could be from a Hatcback. got some pics of it. you can see that it doesn't really fit that good. and you can also see that the wing was red once.
I'm planning to modify it and repaint it so that it fits better.

Great looking car and color combination! I was considering this green off of the new Lexus 460 lsh. Dont know what green it is but its sharp looking, not as bright as midori green but on the same lines and or darker shade.

Question: Lip from a Mitsubishi galant? What year is that? Thanks!
  • my guess

    british racing green-jaguar.

    tonga green-range rover/land rover.

Yes I belive it's from a Mitsubishi Galant. Don't know what year. But I've asked a guy on the Swedish Honda forum. When I know more I'll write it here! A lot of people (at least in sweden) put these on their CRXs and Civics. It's made out of a material that's easy to bend. It took me about 10 minutes to mount it.
    my guess

    british racing green-jaguar.

    tonga green-range rover/land rover.
I wish it was brittish racing green on my car! that would look great!

here's the answer: 88-92 galant GTI

BTW I've ordered parts for my car! I will have them this this afternoon!

Got the drums back together yesterday!

here's some pictures of the car, lowered and cleaned:

Looks a lot better! maybe I'm lowering it a bit more in the back.
as you can see the rear wheel arches are home made (by the previous owner). I want to to fix that in the future. does anybody have any tips on where i can buy pieces that looks like the original? I've heard that the civic sedan wheelarches looks almost the same, can anyone confirm that?
  • It does look good for a wagon no ?
    I'm impressed...

    props man!

    thank you! :)

I just need some more money! gonna put a D16Z6 in it as soon as I can afford it. going to need a new exhaust pipe and some other stuff for it aswell.

nice! love the colour - shame the finish is not what you want! :)
  • FrodeFrode Band Wagon
    Thanks!
I shouldn't complain actually... it's an old car that someone repaired in a low low budget way... I didn't pay that much money for it. And the good thing is that everything I do on the car is going to be better than it was before :P I mean, I can't ruin it!

Looks like the hatchback wing is mounted on the top of the wagon wing.

Could possibly remove wagon wing to make the hatchback wing lower?

Yes, it is mounted on top of the wagon wing. Have had the same idea... but I don't want to drill any holes in the car if I don't have to and the the car probably isn't green under the wagon wing. Was actually going to ask if the wagon wing takes the water and dirt away from the rear window? please let me know if the wagon wing does any good?
Been driving the car for the first time in rain. The rear window gets totaly covered in water and dirt. I think it is because of that the combination of the two wings is really bad.
Another idea I came up with was to build my own wing based on the wagon wing.

I've put the seats from my CRX Vtec in the Shuttle. I work with car upholstery, so i did renovate the drivers seat before i put it in. Going to renovate the passenger seat as well. But I'm waiting for some fabric I've ordered. Going to make new clothing for the rear seat as well when I got it.
I did also steal the steering wheel from my CRX.

Today I got really tired of how the wing was mounted. Took it of. Put some satin black paint on the shuttle wing and some on the underside of the HB wing. I moved the HB wing further back and mounted in a somewhat more aggressive angel :P

i like that roof rack too

in the US none of said generation galants, not even the VR4, had lips.
we also never got the AMG galant either

The roof rack is nice but it makes the car look higher. I'm leaving it on the car as long as it's my daily driver. I don't know really... it's hard to decide. sometimes I think the car looks better with out it and some times not. We'll see what's happening to it in the future.

okay, well than it's an EDM (and maybe JDM) lip then. I could probably find one in Sweden if someone's interested.

I Love this car! It's actually both cool and practical!

Now i have rebuilt the wing. I'll probably rebuild it again some time in the future. The finish isn't perfect and I want to do some changes to it. But this will have to do for now.

Thanks! like i said before the lip's from a 88-91 Mitsubishi Galant GTI. as far as i know it wasn't sold in the US. so if you want a lip like it you will have to look for it in Europe (and maybe in Japan).
