I need to give my Wagon a engine flush... I feel the engine oil does not too long to get burn... The oil looks dirty even 500 miles after changing the oil...
  • ReaccionReaccion Senior Wagonist
I just changed the oil again. This time, I let the engine drain for about two hours before adding the new oil. The oil has not gotten dirty so far now after the draining... :)

Yeah man, I had to leave the PA turnpike because of the massive traffic... It took me a lot more time to get there using the alternative route...

Oh man! Something is happening with my 1989 Honda Civic Wagon Wagovan. My wagon does NOT start sometimes. I mean, the wagon does NOT even crank. It is like if the ignition switch would not be working properly. I changed the ignition switch but the problem continues. I get a positve cable from the battery and with the ignition switch on, I jump the starter and the wagon starts right up. Also, when the problem occurs, there is a clicking noise coming from under the steering wheel around where the fuse box is around. I am thinking that it could be a blown relay or remote starter cable. Please let me know your suggestions!!

I checked the main relay and that was not the problem.... There was an remote starter alarm installed by the wagon's previous owner. This alarm is still installed on the wagon but is not functional. There was a relay for the remote starter between the starter and the starter switch. I just eliminated this relay and I was good to go! :)

Hi guys, I am having a problem with my 89 Civic wagon. The car drive just fine and like every two weeks or so, the car shuts down while driving. It cracks and cracks but it does not start. The engine seems to start but it does not. After a little while (around 10 minutes) the car stars right up and nothing happends until one or two weeks later where the wagon does the same. This is driving me crazy!! Especially the last time in which I had my kids and wife in the wagon and I was driving in the highway.... Any ideas guy????

In addition, I could hear the main relay clicking when the problem happends but my wagon does not start still.

Updates 04/28/2012: I resoldered all of the main relay joints. I hope that this solves the problem.

Updates 05/04/2012: I drove around 60 miles today and so far no problems... I will keep you guys updated though!

Guys, my factory seats turned out to be a little uncomfortable being the cushion a little wormed out. I decided to go for the CRV seats at least for the front. Like you may already know, the seats do not fit on the wagon. What I did was removing the original wagon cushion and replace it the CRV ones. I also installed the CRV factory covers. I just used the wagon seat chassis... The driver seat arm rest is a little hard to get it in but I am working on it…..

I installed the CRV front seats. I have to use the skeleton of the wagon and use the CRV cushions and covers. I also used the wagon headrest to match the rear seats a little bit... I am sorry that I did not include many pictures. But I started the job and forgot my camera at home… :-(
