Cat source?

Is there a bolt-on catalytic converter available aftermarket? The cat has been replaced before, looks like they just cut off the flanges and welded in a generic one. Is that the way to go(instead of getting the whole enchilada)?

An OEM bolt-on cat is a lot more expensive than a generic welded-on style. Personally, I prefer the welded on style... less chance for leaks.

Thanks. Key word here is "expensive". I was being lazy and hoping to just bolt one in but this is a low-budget project. I have a welder but don't relish the thought of welding undercar. I guess it would be best to mock it up in place, get it well-tacked, then take it off to sew it up?

Back to source for converter: Anyone have a recommendation? Or do I just get tube diameterXlength and go shopping?

EBay or dumpster-dive behind the muffler shop 2 B real cheap.
