Requesting how to for EDM center console install

please help me out and enlighten me if there is a step by step procedure for installing the edm lower console, i do not want to shove it into place and have broken tabs. thank you.

I don't have any literature on this subject and nothing came up on search about how to install one and before a mod decides he wants to lock this thread because he thinks this is common knowledge and shouldn't be asked, ask yourself, is everyone gonna have the same mindset and experience you've got to throw this into place?? I half do and half don't I can shove it into place but do not want to do that, I would like to do it properly, if someone has the procedure scanned from Honda, or write up, please direct me to it.

im not sure if there is really a right way to do it, but it is a pretty tight fit and if you dont want to shove it into place, i would suggest loosening the center console section that sits between the seats, that should help you wiggle it in easy enough...

tried that, still pretty tight, the hardest part is to make the two pointy tabs on either side (top left and top right) next to the screw holes go under and up, i feel like its extremely tight and break some tabs before it seats into place...thanks for the response, always looked up to your build bro
  • i did it recent, its a bi!@#.
i even took apart center console between the seats still didn't work.

you gotta be a jedi, you need the force.

pull down hard(don't break it) flex until upper side tabs slide in.

    good luck.

You need to take the upper console off (the cover for the radio and heater/ac controls) and remove your USDM lower half (ash tray and cig lighter). There are screws that go in there to release the bottom half, now hook your EDM lower half (slide the tabs on the back through the slots) to the upper console and put the screws back in. This will install in one piece. You HAVE to install the lower console to the upper console and put it back in one piece. Now, there will be two screws on your middle console towards the front (at least on mine there are) the lower console will slide over those and you will need to screw the lower console through those two on the middle console. This will secure the bottom to the car.

This should be a 10 minute install tops, nothing difficult about it.

Nothing at all difficult, as Rage said it's a 10-15 minute job.

So what you're saying is to use the Usdm top half and attach it to the edm lower half, then install as a unit and it should fit and I don't have to wrestle the unit into the slot? If that's the case I've been doing it all wrong since I didn't use the Usdm top half! Thanks!

Yes that is exactly what I am saying. After the two pieces are together slide the top half in and it should slide right into place.
