rotary RWD Wagon

SO I am actually debating whether to spend the cash on this project. I want to put a. 85 RX-7 engine and drivetrain into a wagon. I know it's a lot off work but only one thing is holding me up. I need to run the transmission through the rear support for the engine, do I really even need that bar anymore? Can I just pull it and pitch it?

  • You will have to figure out a way to retain your steering. I think if you have a look under there, right where you would like your gearbox to sit is the steering rack.

And that "support bar" as you put it is a rather structural subframe. I dont think removing it would be very wise

Also friends don't let friends have Rotary's

back when i wanted to RWD a honda i thought of taking and swapping the knucles from side to side so the tie rob end mounts were in front then mount the rack up in front of the engine but u would have to figure out some sort of device to correct the steering since now when u turn left it will want to go right..... never actually attempted it but i kinda kicked the idea around....

    Well put, sir.

General rule of thumb with building cars- if you have to ask, you probably shouldn't even try it

Well if you like buying petrol, oil, apex seals and dont really want to drive your car but rather spend your time fixing it then yes, a Rotary engine would be the perfect choice

Well jaker did some out there mods and he turned out fine, I probably should just buy a corolla anyways.
  • yo yo yo yo yo yo
  • Is this live or memorex?
  • jaker also kept things in the honda family.

the hard part about swapping in a backdated 13b is getting the wiring setup, unless your throwing it into a 4wd wagon of the same year.

it would just be cheaper to upgrade to a d16z6.
