94 Integra Console Swap UPDATED 2.23.11

SEE UPDATE BELOW

Please don't flame, because it didn't turn out quite as expected but I made it work.

Here's the stock console. First remove this. Only four screws held mine in.
525.jpg

Then you need to remove the radio bezel or whatever you want to call it. Only four screws hold this in, one hidden on in the glove box.

Should come out looking like this
526.jpg

You need to remove the bottom portion from the top via two screws on the inner front part of the bezel. You are left with this piece.
527.jpg

If you want to retain your cigarette outlet remove this and ground and splice it to the integra console. Pretty easy.
528.jpg

Now you're ready to install the integra armrest and console. WARNING. They do not line up property so you will have to fab something up to bridge the gap. See pictures.

So once I got it installed there was about an inch and a half gap in between the two.

***** FOR A TEMPORARY fix I used some spare material I had a made a junction between the two. I plan on matching my Headliner/armrest/and fabbed piece around the radio a like. It should look neat.

Temporary finished product.

I'm happy because now I have an armrest/ console storage, and CUP HOLDERS!!!!!!!!

Stay tuned, I plan on fabbing something else inbetween the console and radio.
UPDATE

I went to the junk yard and pulled out a radio bezel out of an EF, and a junk holder (IDK what its called) out of a 1997 integra. I took measurements and everything fitted very well. I am pleased and the redneck look is gone :) I also spray painted the console to match the interior.

Yeah, I'm going to come up with a cleaner look, just a twenty minute fix to hold it over until I can come up with something.

how did the center screws below the E~brake and the rear screws line up....?
can i get a pic of those 2 screw mounting points..??
  • They mounted up perfectly. I'll take a picture, but it'll be Monday due to i work all weekend
  • Does the arm rest come in fabric as well? Not sure if it was an option on the lower level tegs.

Yes it comes in fabric. Only the GSRs I believe came in leather.

Thats proper so the console and arm rest r all one piece?
  • nice work man...i like your thinking here i might have to try this if i can come across a console.

    too ghetto for my tastes....

thumbs up for getting creative, tho!

If only someone into plastic fab could throw something together to slide in there.

If not, doesn't seem like a bad place to mount gauges in a boosted wagon.

I will be attempting this ASAP and will post up how it turns out.
  • i just orderd mine for only $40 shipped. bad thing is i have to remove the seats in order to get the old out and the new in.

stupid auto seat belts that i love!

i still hafta figure out how im going to close the gap...

    we shall c!

I was going to try this but since I don't feel like getting rid of the head chopper seatbelts I'm not going to. Looks good though
  • So this won't work with the auto belts? How much trouble is it to retro fit regular seatbelts?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
I just searched and the 94 integra center will not work with auto seatbelts. It is possible to convert from auto to manual but it requires welding. Not my cup of tea but doesn't look like anyone has done it to their wagons.

yes it well u need the armrest delete... and it's a jdm part... so pretty much u'll just have the upper part but again there's a gap... i've posted up pics before so u just got to search it...
  • do you think this armrest would fit if CRX Si Seats were swapped in and fabbed to still keep the auto belts?

    just wondering?
  • JDMWago666JDMWago666 Senior Wagonist
There is a lot of clearance issues with this console and the auto seat belts. I highly doubt it'll work with different seats, you'll most likely need to change the seat belts.

I did the same swap but instead of having to fill a gap I attached the dc2 front piece directly to the ef piece and left a gap on the bottom works good and you can barly notice the gap while getting in and out but i still need to fiqure out something better
  • inceptioninception New Wagonist
I dont have pics but to fill ur gap just use abs and a torch to heat it up to bend it.Its alot easier to use a vise and gloves so u dont burn the hell outta ur hand..To give it a finished look use bondo on the seams then texture spry it and some defcon to hold it together and it will lool like it came stock.Use bulldog and repaint all the pieces.Theres a jdm piece u can use but u need to be good with a dremell and you will have to swap the bottom of ur dash for a crx one and the inner radio bezel witch you will have to modify...
