I missed the part where you need an opinion?

Anyone know how to make it work? I just called honda and they said its been discontinued and the will call me back on making it work
  • I guess it would be kind of cool to upgrade it to current technology and use it, if that's even possible.

Kind of like how people like to use a modern frame, suspension, and engine with old school body work.

Damn dude I've nevvver seen anything like that! I would clean that up, put it on ebay for 400 bucks and say its JDM. Or you could clean it up and see if you could get it working, super rare part indeed.
  • the only issue i see with it is that it is an analog phone and everything is digital now
if you can get it running it wont be cheap

Make sure they don't try and call you back on that thing...they'll never get through! :-) J/K...that thing is sick, I have NEVER seen one!

This is clearly a fashion item. Like JDM navigation.

I won't say there's not a way to get it to work some how. I will say you likely can't afford it.

Come to find out it is analog, I hooked it up you can still dial 911 as I found out by accident playing around with it. I would hook up service to it but when the phone was installed it came with a packet for installation with certain codes to punch in to program it (Packet that I dont have  ). I went to a couple places that my friend Chris from Honda recomended and thats where I got the good news, bad news senario explained to me.
  • damm.. that wagon had to have some really option loving people to get those items.. ha i wish there were people around here that did stuff like that to their wagons.
    *cough*lucky bastard*cough*
  • Have one of these phones also, found it in a 91 RT wagon, but I know they also came in some old school acccords... willing to sell it for a reasonable price if anyone is interested, I just picked it up cause I know it's rare, but have filled my open din with another rare piece... thanks

I could see someone wire it up to a newer cell phone but then it's stuck in your car :) I wish I could find an armerest in that color.

    Sounds easy, totally not...

IMHO, this would be like carrying around a VTEC valve cover, and not having a head to match.

I'd trade it for a bull bar:) haha.
  • 1988rt1988rt Senior Wagonist
you would trade me the phone for a bull bar?
  • Looks like a rats nest of wires, clean if up and keep it.
  • Definately like this phone, but I agree with Charb...it would cost an arm and a leg to pull it together unless you know an electtrical engineer who may give some advice on the subject. How much would you consider selling these phones for?
  • 1988rt1988rt Senior Wagonist
Not sure i want to sell it Ive hooked it up and it works, the funny shit is that i Have to use calling cards but it works :D

    What don't you have?

That thing is dope. Trade it for the wheels, or just put it up on H-T or Ebay and I bet you could get some solid cash for it.
