  • do you mean stereo like sub/subs and amps? im guessing yes. if so, there is always a go to for me. build a fake floor out of MDF and then mount the sub in the floor. We did it in my girfriends civic si last year and i think its great. just build a small cover for it so nothing your hauling will fall into the sub and break it.

i like to put my amp/amps under my drivers/passengers seat. i love it because its out of the way yet still accessable if you push the seat all the way forward. you can run your wires either under the carpet or under the plastic door sill paneling. I can take some better photo's if you want. i dont really have any great ones right now. my carpet is not back in my car so...lol
  • No head unit in mine I have an amp in the center of the spare tire with the inputs wired to a 1\8" stereo jack in the dash. I mostly listen to Pandora on my phone, or anyone can bring their mp3 and plug in.

    lolol

    together
  • I have a Pioneer headunit and Pioneer 6.5" Components in the front doors, in the back I have Alpine "shelf speakers" on the OEM parcel tray and have a 8" subtube with inbuilt amp in the boot.

I went for the subtube as it fits between the rear strut brace and the back seat and when it needs to be removed it unplugs and is zip-tied to the strut brace. So when I need to carry something in the back I can remove it all in about 2mins.

that sounds like a really good idea. can u toss some pics on here?

beautifull setup Old Skool. i see the little door speakers in the trays for the back, is that the only way to mount rear door speakers? i was debaiting on cutting holes into the rear door paneling but wasnt sure if it would be deep enough for the housing.

4-JBL 6.5's 1-BOSS 10" sub under my passenger seat. Kenwood head unit with Sirius satellite radio. It won't run you out of the car or anything or win you a competition. It's just a smooth sounding economical set up. With my entire cargo are available to boot.
  • it really all depends on what kind of sound your going for and how much you wanna invest

    my system consists of
    alpine 9887 headunit
alpine KTP-445 head unit power pack
orion XTR-652 6.5" door speakers/ changing them out cause the covers dont fit with protruding tweeters
vibe audio slick 40s in adapter plates in rear speaker bins
vibe audio QB69s in prototype ported box powered by a boss audio 2500M amp
small stinger secondary battery in spare tire tray
  • the system is not in my wagon yet as im still acquiring the gear but it is as follows...

    New setup:
    -Nakamichi CD-500
    -Pioneer DEQ-7600
-haven't decided on the front speakers
    - Image Dynamics IDQ10 subwoofers
    -Audio Control active crossovers
    - Monitor 1 A/B class dry amplifiers

    Current Setup:
    -VR3 cd player
    -MTX RoadThunder 4ch amp
    -JBL gti 6 1/2" coaxials
    - Kicker fa-8 subwoofer in tube enclosure

Im going for a sound quality setup cause im serious about mah tunes, but my current setup is good for the person on a budget, you leave the front channels on the 4 channel amp in stereo while you bridge the rear channels for the subwoofer. gives you a simple but effective 2.1 setup in a wagon without rear speakers (like Mine :P )

what did you use to mount those in the back? i definatly want to keep the space in the back for boards or filming equipment so i like the setup does it process a good sound quality and effecient bass?

does only 2 front speakers and a kicker produce a good sound or is it definatly knowticable?
  • quality front speakers on an amp with a decent 8" sub wont be heard for blocks away
it will however give you a good interior sound that is enjoyable for daily driving

yes, like dirtydirty said, good quality speakers and a decent sub will produce good sound, and the kicker is and old school sub frome the early 90's and i does produce good bass for its size
