New here from Boston/NY

Hi all,
My name is Erik, and I currently live in Boston, but will be moving to NY in a month or so. I do not drive a Civic Wagon, but i recently drove my friends RT4WD Wagon, and haven't been able to stop thinking about planning my own build since. I used to have an RSX, but now have a '97 Accord on its last legs, and most days lately when I do drive, I drive my girlfriend's '08 Fit. All other around-town trips are on my bike (fixed-gear). Now I have never "built" a car, but I really want to get my hands dirty on something, and I want that something to be a RealTime Wagon. I don't know exactly what direction i would go with the build, but I suppose I should find a blank canvas first, right? Which is why I'm here. I'm having trouble finding one in decent shape (I want it to be running) within an agreeable distance, using craigslist. I'm hoping I will be able to find what I'm looking for in this community, as well as the knowledge to help me complete some of the goals I set before myself.
Also, I have a passion for photography - especially automotive and motorsports based photography. So if I make any relevant pictures, I will be sure to share them with you all. And if anybody is nearby and wants to do a photoshoot, let me know.
Some of my work can be seen here:

Cheers!
