I recently had to remove my drive shaft. One of the U joints went bad and now I need a replacement shaft (the non viscous coupler shaft). It was squeaking like a rusted bicycle wheel.
I've been driving without it just fine in 2 wheel drive-only. Seems smoother on the fwy and has more power. I'll know in a few gas tanks whether it saves me gas or not.

Just an update, I've been driving without driveshaft until now and still no issues. However I haven't had a significant increase in MPG and the handling isn't as good as it was with rt4wd. I still get about 25 mpg tops and rainy wet days I can feel the front wheels slip. Still looking for a replacement drive shaft....
