Olsonski's new Quinn

Well after a few weeks of searching I found my rt4wd on craigslist in Santa Fe NM.
Its paid for and will be shipped to chicago, hopefully arriving November 5th or 6th.
Then I will be doing a bunch of work. Very minor rust repair, interior repairs, paint job, wheel paint, and I'm sure a bunch of other tasks.

your getting it shipped? how much was all this?
  • When it's all said and done I will have about $2k into my wagon with shipping.
  • Well two more days. I am pretty excited and cannot wait to drive and start tearing down and fixing stuff on my new rt4wd.

Curious why you inquired about my car?
  • Because for one it looks sweet. For two, my dad is n ow looking for a wagon and wants an rt4wd, and for three just because I have one on the way doesn't mean I couldn't have two on the way.

You can never have to many.

    Nice purchase.
  • Oh... and four, I want a bull bar and fogs, and five I want your roof rack, and six I could get the wagon for my dad and then decide if I wanted your wagon with the parts I want, or my wagon and your parts and give the left overs to Dad.

lol you're gonna fit in well here
  • 12 hours and it should be here,..... I hope!
  • All right, it has arrived, with a dead battery, haha. I cleaned the posts and terminals and jumped it, fired right up. My yellow lab hopped in and we went for a ride around the block. It's going to need more love than I thought but that's expected. Pictures will follow tonight and hopefully a little more work into Quinny my new rt4wd.
  • Updates:
I took the wagon for a long drive last night, about 30 miles.
Things to do right away. Oil change, it's two years past due and 2,000 miles behind schedule! Maybe seafoam it as well. It seems like it has been sitting a long time, the rear doors were never opened. The windows go up and down very slowly. There is some clunking noises when shifting into second and third gear. The windshield is cracked.
I love that the stock radio works perfectly! I am pleased that the original floormats are still there in great condition too!
Will be taking more pics along the way. One dent needs to be fixed and it needs paint, badly. Looks like a strawberry float, since it's red white and creme colored....
  • And one more with my DD insight...
  • Gotta love the previous owner's dedication to this little guy. About two years overdue for an oil change! The wagon runs awesome since I got that shitty Pennzoil out that was two years old and sludgy to the max. Still having some issues, but I drove over a hundred miles now and it seems to be working out it's own problems now and again.
  • Just snapped a few more pics with my phone, that explains the quality.
  • Man I have to say I love this wagon!!!
I changed the oil, all four tires were at 15-20 psi so I filled them to 38psi. I put some gas treatment in it and it runs beautifully. And the biggest surprise... the mileage. I was told the rt4wd wagon would get between 22-27 mpg. I just did my first full tank, I went 287.2 miles, 8.8 gallones of gas, 32.7 miles per gallon! And that was with some hard driving.
    I love my wagon!

the gas tank is like 12 gallons or so....

almost bought this car outta espanola, nm:) figured i already have tw RT's....dont need a third!
  • really?
I enjoy it quite a bit. I have already driven about 600 miles and it's super smooth. Just have to get it painted and trying to decide which way to go.
  • Second tank of gas 31.3 mpg
  • I just bought a 90 rt4wd also a month ago and I'm from Chicago to man we should totally meet up sometime
  • where at in chicago?
  • I'll be adding some more photos soon.
I have done some odds and ends. I changed the dizzy cap, the spark plugs, air filter and the ecu. Hopefully the CEL is gone for good.
