Clutch problem help asap

ok this car is jsut falling apart on me left and right.

I was driving and I felt the slightest click in the clutch pedal. I was in neutral, engine on and I cannot shift into gear. it was like shifting into a wall.

I turned the car off and now I cant turn it back on. I think the clutch is not disengaging.

Some people said it could be . . .

1. throwout bearing
2. release fork
3. cable

I am new to working on trannies and clutches so please help me out and explain. thanks. I need this car to drive. everything is stock.

  • slave cylinder for the clutch possibly

Sounds possibly like a shift fork? There won't be a cylinder on these clutches as they are cable shifted, both gear selection and clutch for RT4WD and clutch only for FWD.

is the shift fork the piece that sticks out of the tranny that the end of the cable is attached to?

The shift fork is inside the box and it selects the gears. Often when they either break or bend they feel like you are shifting into nothingness or it will stop you like a brick wall.

is there any way to check that without taking out the tranny? could those symptoms be caused by anythign else?

They certainly can be caused by other things, i'd wait for a few more responses from people who know more about transmissions.

ok so i had my girl step on the clutch pedal. I can see the clutch cable being pulled as well as the bracket it is attached to.
