My first wagon!

Good news everyone! I'm getting my first wagon soon! This will in fact be my first car
!
Here's the story (for those interested):
I'm heading off to school right away and decided it was time to get some wheels. I recalled my friends rents had a sweet 89 rt in gray that I hadn't seen in a while. When I inquired as to it's whereabouts I learned that it had been written off as a total loss due to hail about a month or two ago
. It was still at a local yard so I decided to look into it further. Turns out the hail damage is not too bad although it is everywhere but I'm not too concerned about it at this point. It is a single owner, something like 300+km but they swapped in a new engine in the last couple years (no idea how many km on that one). It is an automatic though
. Hardly any rust from what I could see. Thing is, if this vehicle is a total loss I've made a tentative agreement with the owner to buy it back from the insurance company at what is likely to be a pittance. I will have to get a safety inspection though (obviously).
TL;DR
Buying an 89 rt4wd auto for cheap. Mechanically fine. Body needs a little tlc. Needs a safety.
P.S.
Any other Canadians out there?
