I hope you mean 100mm not 10mm from the ground! We have the same law in NZ but it can be got around with certification.

Looks sweet, love the OEM decals
  • Damn! I can't get over those decals! They rock hard! And I love how the rims match them!

i like it more the more i look at it.
the lip is funny with the "lawn edge" sticker still on it.

    hahaha yeah.

yea the sticker is for shit and giggles.

woops yeah i mean 100mm sorry.

motor wise. i want to do a sohc vtec change. while keeping the 4wd system.
    or a b16a.

but my car is a dual carby.d15b4 sucks.. which means i need to do something to the fuel system.
and wiring. so its quite hard. im only a basic mechanic.
but engine conversion/ wiring i would not have a clue.

in aus. the honda scene is big. but mainly eg/ek/dc2

i am first in aus to run my wagon like this. i have not seen another wagon driving arround.
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
also. parts over here is hard to find.

i dont see any wagon in a wreckers. or anywhere.

i was just wondering. if i was interested in a part. that someone was selling. on this forum.
but from another state. would you guys actually sell the part? or not worth it. cause shipping will cost heaps?

shipping from america to aus. would be killer?

If you really really need parts get in touch with Chris at strongforhonda in New Zealand, he should be able to source most bits, ships internationally too

    NZ-DB8R,
Do Strongs have much in terms of Wagon parts?
  • There is a company in the US called rywire who will make a conversion harness for you so you just have to plug stuff in rather than rewiring! I got one of their harnesses for my z6 swap and it was 100% worth the money.

Also, 100mm is 3.93" (for us slow Americans). Where is this measured from? I think your drop looks perfect...looks factory. Almost a tuck, but not quite. This is the stance that most high end sports cars/tourning cars have. Looks great!

Not necessarily Shuttle specific parts, but certainly EF parts. Im sure if there was enough interest they would source a couple Shuttle wrecks though

100mm is measured from the lowest structural point of the car, so front subframe, chassis rails, suspension components etc etc but not things like mudflaps or exhausts.
If you get pulled over by the police in NZ they usually have a block of wood 100mm high that the slide under your car at various points to ensure its not too low
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
in aus. they have a stick with a 100mm wheel on it.

we are not sure if its 100mm.

    yes 100mm from the chasis.

but in aus if the wheel hits the exhaust. thats defect.
    mud flap is okay.

ive been defect 3 times in other cars.
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
i have heard of rywire before.

do they make a carby loom to efi loom?

cause in america i think they dont come in carby.

    Correct.
    But isn't your wagon running a D15B4 twin-carb though?
ps: I dont think rywire would have a loom for a twin-carb'ed honda.
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
yes my car is running a really FREAKED D15B4 dual carb.

    slow as poo. lol

i was thinking of taking a vti eg loom. with the sohc vtec motor.

and use into the wagon and use a eg cluster too. custom fit into the wagon dash.

and use a custom surge tank. will that work??

    also. as for mounts?

is hatchback dual carb? same as the wagon? my front mount is broken.

    also my diff mount.
  • debrisdebris Wagonist
Well if your dropping in a newer d-series engine then mounts isn't a problem (just use your existing ones). Your biggest drama will be making a new fuel setup to accommodate the efi engine.
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
i was thinking of doing a custom surge tank. would be the easiest i think.

which alot of people do here.

    another question.

if i bolt a sohc vtec motor in. could i still used the 4wd gear box? bolt on?

or i will have to make my car front wheel drive?
  • NZ-DB8RNZ-DB8R Moderator
Have a search mate, all engine swap info has been covered before on this site. If you can track down a EF3 Civic Loom I would do that, then just had knock sensor and vtec wires
  • ZakkZakk Wagonist
When I first seen your decals in the original pic I shuttered a little bit, but with your drop and rims, the decal kicks ass.
  • Zakk, i agree completely hahaha. looks sweet
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
hahaha yeah. looks kool with decals.

when i first got it . i was like. im guna take them off.

but its quite hard because its a 22yo car. and when u try to peel it off.
    it just cracks and rips.

so i gave up. now every time i look at it. i keep liking it even more.

guys. i have source out a ef3 loom already.

shall i get sohc vtec motor or twin cam non vtec. with a turbo.

can i have other peoples opinion?
  • ushatushat Band Wagon
also i have a yakima wind fairy thing.

and the brackets to hold onto the racks is round.
so i need round bars roof racks.

in aus. i have ask everywhere to see if they got round bars racks.

    but i cannot find any.

can you guys tell me. how u guys do it?
is it custom? or i need a yakima roof racks?

    thanks. love this forum

I'd go for the sohc vtec. There are more aftermarket parts for them. The only thing you have to be careful of is the three bolt holes for the driveshaft, the 4wd has equal length shafts. some d15s don't have the bolt holes. I have contacted strongs regarding shuttle parts and they didnt have much.
