  • driftin90driftin90 Senior Wagonist
is that all the way down?
  • AaronAaron Wagonist
Its not that i didnt like them, they were blown after 35k miles on them.
There all the way down, just arent low enough
  • Couldn't you have them rebuilt

Did you take the lock rings out? Ya know, unscrew the bottom strut mount and take out the 2 rings that lock the mount /spring perch in place? Ive been running my megans all the way down like that in the back and well, its pretty dang low.

Do you have a picture for reference? All ive done is tighten the strut mount all the way till it ran out of threads

The only one you really need when you're really low is that one. With the spring all the way up, bottom out the lower mount, then lower the spring down and use it as a lock ring/spring perch all at the same time. You'll be super low! The only pain is you basically have to take the coilover out. Oh, and i guess you could do like I did and redrill the lower mount if you have to. But thats not really the safest thing i can imagine.

I tried this with my old set of function forms yesterday, was so low i couldnt even turn the wheel.

Do you have dampening? how does doing this effect that?
  • driftin90driftin90 Senior Wagonist
so you saying that's too low
  • AaronAaron Wagonist
for my function form setup, yes its to low, but there was way more gap in between the spring perch and the mount on those then on the godspeeds, so it should be fine
  • Well there ya go! Justin-xxx ran his godspeeds with only the single spring perch collar on. So it can be done, you might have minor changes on them, but it would be pretty minimal.

And yeah i do have adjustable dampening on my megans, they're all the way stiff and ride as such..

You could just take out the lowest one, the one that locks the bottom mount. Thats another like.. 1/3 of an inch or 1/2 an inch. With the mount adjusted all the way up it shouldnt move.

Ill mess with it saturday before the meet, i cant get to low though since my tires are fat as fuuhckkk lol
