Well, I totalled my CRX...that sucked

So i bought this wagon...minus the wheels and CD player. Something to daily drive and make nicer inside for the wife and soon to be baby and my pup in the back
35875_823176555544_12309859_45615371_64996_n.jpg

as you can see it looks stupid as hell...especially with the hood. yes...it's a shocker japanese naval flag. ugh
www.civicwagon.com

ghetto rigged a cold air intake i had laying around (also swapped in a C&R radiator...no pics)
www.civicwagon.com

slapped a couple of stickers on it
28096_813233037434_12309859_45205702_3531293_n.jpg

and had a friend sandblast and respray my meshies from the CRX (unknown italian brand, 15x7 +15)
35875_823015173954_12309859_45610632_7176983_n.jpg

they fit OK but i need a camber kit in the rear for sure
35875_823015188924_12309859_45610633_6401961_n.jpg

I also reupholstered my headliner with some alternating direction skull and crossbone pattern fabric and bolted up my wink mirror

for now, i'd like to get a hoist and lift the motor enough to get my DC header in there and get a 2.5" in/out cat to bolt up to the rest of the 2.5" echaust and raise the low hanging exhaust.

for the body, plans are to get a new hood and drivers fender and some new doors, then get some fender flares from a jetta and cut out/conceal the rear quarter rust and have my friend do a basic cleanup and respray to the stock color, maybe with some more flake if i'm feeling wasteful...it's just a daily driver and will be treated as such...for now

other misc parts i have laying around/from the crx...it's a lot so it'll all just depend on how motivated i get to do stuff and how much money i get from the CRx being totalled (haggling with insurance because of most of the parts mentioned below)

diamond racing 15x8 +12 steelies (ordered) will slap 195/50/15's on em...maybe respray em some absurd old school MONSTER metal flake red
Z6swap (rebuilt stock) with EF Si tranny, ported/polished head with port matched intake mani, chipped P28
DSM turbo
DSM bluetop injectors
Starion intercooler
front strut tower bar (won't clear stupid intake mani box thing)
rear CRX Si swaybar
CRX dash/seats/arm rest...we'll see
Tiki shift knob
extended road race shifter that was even FURTHER extended and powdercoated rainbow flake black
tokiko blues with skunk 2 coilover sleeves...i'll keep these for when the konis it has go bad

thanks for reading my thread :D

anyone know what these are offhand? haha i can't figure it out and they're definitely NOT bbs rs'

Those rims are made by MIM. See them older VW's and Opel's over here in Germany.

Definitely diggin those rims . Look bad ass on the wagon .
  • Thanks! I realized that I really liked how they fit, so I cancelled my order with Diamond Racing Wheels and decided I'm going to have them fixed (rears are bent...one REALLY badly) and resprayed professionally so they're presentable.

I also have some extra money coming in, so I think I'm going to do a tune up on it, get new wheel bearings, install the new extended lugs that i have and get some rear camber/toe components. Then I'll probably tear into the exhaust to keep the vibrating to a minimum where it's rubbing the underside of the car

Sounds like a plan . I think I heard of a few places out in Cali that repair rims . Where in Ohio are you ?
  • I'm in Newark...east of columbus. There's a place here called Wheel Medic that does awesome work I'll probably hit up
  • the shocker was pissing me off a lot, so i figured if i can't find a new hood, then do this...reminds me of the old S13

If this turns into anything like your CRX, I'll be following this. ;) Keep up the work...

Wow, I've never seen that tiger camo S13 before. Wicked.

    Yours?
  • yeah its my old car...sold it to a buddy who's turned it into this

(just dirty from some button up work before a drift event)

  • oh also, today i took the day off work because im replacing the gas tank...it was patched before and apparently decided yesterday was the day to break loose again and spilled gas everywhere...made it to work and was towed home. today i disconnected fuel lines and plugs and dropped it.

    waiting on the UPS dude...

nice tiger camo hood, good luck on the fuel tank .... :!:
HOPE it wasn't fuel of gas..
did it come with a new fuel pump.... :?:
  • Well, I had a mishap and they sent the wrong tank on Friday. Sent me one with the filler neck in the wrong spot, so I had to wait till yesterday to get the right one. Come to find out the dude that owned the car before me had removed the rear hanger bolts that attach to the end of the straps, so I have to order those from a friend today and hopefully have them tomorrow. The tanks a little different and I'll have to get some longer hoses for the fuel pump to hard lines, but it shouldn't be a problem.

Next on my list is a tune up which I'm sure I could use
  • well, come to find out none of the tanks from advance auto work and they're on backorder from Honda (are probably discontinued). back to square one. this shouldn't be so hard...
  • doitdubdoitdub familEE
You may need to source a used one...
  • i'm in the process now. i have a guy locally who may have one on a parts car, a junkyard in northern ohio that has one and then i PM'ed bam just to be safe
  • civicwagon09civicwagon09 Band Wagon
Nice wag fix that crx up it would be a nice race car
  • eh, i don't have the time or "give a crap" right now to mess with the CRX. it's nice, but it's been such a pain in the ass dealing with the other dudes insurance company and trying to get reciepts from lazy shop owners that i've just been pissed at cars in general lately

hopefully should have a gas tank by the end of the week. i might install my extended shifter if I don't get the tank and need something to do...i'm getting bored driving this corolla around haha
  • Gas tank went in. It was a pain in the ASS to find one that didn't have a leak, wasn't rusted out or didn't have a hole in it to drain gas when it came to the yard, but I found one in Toledo and it worked well...made a day of it and took the wife up to go to the Toledo Zoo. Monday, overnighted some OEM straps from Honda and put the tank in on Tuesday only to find out that my alternator had seized up. Snapped the belt and pulled the alternator from the bracket last night. Tomorrow I'm going to remove the axle to drop out the alternator and get the new one in. I think I have to drop the serpentine belt too to get the new alternator belt on. Fun times...
  • If it's not one thing...

Hopefully this thing gets running smoothly soon.

Glad you got a new fuel tank in .... :!:
I was putting my new belts on last night ..
if U have power steering yes u must remove it to get to the alternator belt.. i found it easier to use a 1/4inch super long extension for the stupid tension pulley....
my A\C belt went on easy.... and also the alternator was just a slip on...

    Death metal *thumbs up*
  • well, got the axle out of the spindle, pulled the old alternator out, bolted the new one in and got a full tank of gas. all is well in the world.

very soon i'll be putting a new muffler on, fixing up the exhaust and there should be a little surprise for you guys :)

Glad to hear your back on the road again....
  • As much as the wagon has pissed me off in the last month it was the nicest thing to get in and drive it again. I'll be ripping into the CRX over the next few weeks too. Hopefully I can get the seats bolted in for now. Also, I've got to finally install the new extended shifter...gotta quit being lazy and order that bushing
