Stupid question, Engine running no front wheels?

Still new the 4wd setup.
I am having work done to my front steering knuckles, but I'm at the point where I can test start my car. If the car is in neutral, there are no front wheels on the car (since steering knuckles are at the shop), is there any reason the rear wheels will engage?
Sorry to bring out a newb question, its just the fact I'm new to the 4wd drive train

looks like I don't have to worry about it since I've been rained out tonight. Should be done tomorrow. I plan to finally get a member pic up
If there is a difference in speed between the front half of the driveshaft and the rear half of the driveshaft then the coupler will lockup.
