Ac and cooling fan quit

I'm only asking this because I've got limited time to work on this car tomorrow.
Something has caused my cooling fan to quit working. At the same time I can't get my a/c compressor to kick on. The a/c needs a charge, and yes i did pull the connection to the pressure sensor and jumped it.
The cooling fan was working a few weeks ago. I checked all the fuses and they are all still good.

I'm hoping that somebody will be able to point me right to what's causing my problem :D . Mabey there's one thing that would cause both of these to quit working :D . And i can fix it in 3 minutes in the morning :D :D :D .

Sounds like it has got to be either the wiring, or a relay.

Double check all the fuses just to be sure, it can be hard to see some of the under the dash. You're going to need to use some wiring diagrams to find the relays and what not. I'd start by just checking out all the wiring and making sure it's good. I think the fan switch is one of the little single wire plugs on the back of the block, underneath the intake mani, next to the oil filter. Make sure you're all plugged in back there! I think it's easier to just jack the car up and crawl under there to get to that stuff....

Radiator fan switch is the 2 wire plug on the back of the block near the oil filter (as mentioned above). The relay is just behind the passenger headlight. The A/C fan relay is there as well. It could be that if the relay circuit is faulty, the compressor won't turn on. I suspect you've mucked up some wiring somewhere while doing your A/C work.

now why exactly does my manual say absolutely nothing about the switch on the back of the block?
Almost positive that's what the fan problem is. Since the fan ran last I've had to pull the head while just pushing the manifold backwards. I also had to replace the line below the pcv valve. Both jobs that involved some pushing shit around behind there.
Thanks you guys for pointing me in the right direction!

I'll have to get this taken care of first and see if it makes any difference with the a/c prob. If not I'll start checking wiring and the relays.

I climbed up under there today. I assumed that the little two wire switch would have push on connectors, it looks like the wires are hardwired into the switch. I was hoping to just find one loose and plug it back in... no luck.

I've got a spare a6 block and was hoping mabey it had another switch on there. That block has a single wire sensor above the oil filter???
