Passenger mirror won't line up, please help.

Hello all.
I purchased a passenger mirror on Ebay for my 1990 RT4WD. I have worked on Honda's for 10 years now and have changed out many MANY parts, so this is not something that should be this challenging... but here I am... posting.
I was able to screw the 3 main screws into the mirror as you can see below:

The problem is that the mirror is crooked, does not line up and has 1/4" gaps in multiple areas.
Here is gap about 1/4", the screw that goes where my finger is cannot be screwed in due to it being misaligned by 1/4".

Here is the same area from the outside:

Here is where the mirror and the weather stripping is suppose to line up:

Overall outside shot:

And looking down from the top, the mirror does not hug the car and water would easily get in here as well as the front gap:

I had a Honda body shop look at it just in case I was crazy and they said I must have the wrong mirror because they have never seen one line up this bad... even aftermarket mirrors.
Does anyone have any suggestions that I may be doing wrong? Is this what it looks like if a sedan or coupe EF mirror is installed?
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I remember putting up mirrors on a Wgn @ the junkyard. Some were pretty close.Another member here did a comparison of Civic mirrors. You can look at that to see if it helps.Do a search.
...cause it's from a wagon!

That is the same part number I have, and I actually tried this method the other day with no luck. I screwed in the tab screw first, then the molding but when it came time to line up the 3 screw holes they would not line up. I put a lot of force on the mirror to try and rotate it clockwise for the holes to line up, but no luck. Shoot... the car was rocking from the force, which is definitely not typical Honda fit and finish.
Afterwards, I compared the mirror base to the OEM blank to see if there were any differences. Where the mirror base meets the door on the bottom I noticed it was wavy. The blank was flat and straight, but the mirror had waves, so I am wondering if this mirror came off a car that had the passenger door tweaked in an accident.
Once I get another mirror, I will be able to do some more comparisons. Thanks for the input though.
