New Member From Orange County, CA

I was recently in Virginia and found this Rare Honda on Craigslist. I purchased it for $875. It was running on 3 cylinders, so I got new plugs and wires and a valve cover gasket kit, gave it an oil change and drove it back to CA. I got 13k worth of detailed maintenance dating back to the Original Owner!

Although once I got back to CA I rear ended someone :(

So I was blessed to find one at Pick Your Part in the back lot awaiting the DMV release. I checked up on it daily and when it was released I got a Hood, Fender, Radiator, T-bracket, Blinker and headlight to put it back together. So needless to say its not as nice as it looks in the pic anymore. Funny thing is I posted it on CL for $2500 (not even wanting to sell it) just wanted to see what happens... and the next day I crashed it. That's what I get for even thinking about it. So now It has a gray hood and a tan t-bracket. I have a fender that I decided not to put on for now because it will look worse with a different color fender... I'm going to wait till I have more cash to spend on paint, then put on the better fender(s) still not perfect, add a lil bondo, sand it and prep for paint... yeah whatever but for now the passenger fender is dented but doesn't effect the door opening, and the driver fender triangle at the tip where it meets the blinker is bent back into place... so yeah it is what it is and It runs great as my DD. I got someone willing to buy it for 2k still but I'm going to pass on it. I do love this car and look forward to working on it in the up and coming years. The interior is near perfect BTW..

and heres the last of em... This car has 198k on it, 13k of documented repair over the years... so everything works perfect.. but I just crashed it so im still pissed. (and am low on funds right now :x ) I considered selling it... but even for 2k or 2500 before crashed...what can i get that is as nice as this... not much...so ima keep it.

Is there anyone who thinks I should sell it for 2k? and find another one someday? My wife hates it BTW, but what does she know? lol
  • interior looks minty..other than the fenders not bad at all. i would definitely keep it. like you said what does she know? ha

The passenger fender was repaired fairly well(for free) from a friend yesterday...just needs bondo to smooth out.. and I have a drivers side replacement(last photo) that Im waiting to put on because I like just having a grey hood and matching blue body until I can afford a paint job.

Other than that, it needs the tint stripped and redone
    (Quoted $200 in Orange County)

The wheels need to be cleaned up and redone.
(Any suggestions on how to go about doing this?) (Dismount and redip? or just tape off and rattle can?)

I would like it lower it... but the suspension is fine right now and would like to wait until it NEEDS to be replaced.
    (Im poor, lol)

Also would like an aftermarket Radio w/ AUX & New Speakers..components perhaps? No Subs or Amps.
(Although Im an A/V Tech... Im over spending countless amount of cash on this stuff)

OH! and im having touble finding replacement shocks for the rear hatch.
    (help please!)

After looking at another ride on here... I got a few ideas (cheap ones) to brighten my tired looking honda.

    1. Limo Tint in all windows except for the front two, I'll choose a lighter shade as not to get pulled over.

    2. Paint my hood BLACK, and my bumpers and side molding as well since its all faded gray.

    3. Clean up my stock wheels with S.O.S. pads to get the rust off em'. Mabey Paint black also.

    4. I bet if I clay bar my car, the Original Paint will be brighter.

#5/6 I'm holding off on... Prep for paint, paint, and lowering.
