Making Lemonade out of Lemons

so... yesterday i manage to slide my car under a Taxi cab, ruining my hood. :(

so i was trying to think on the bright side of things. :|

the chances of finding a wagon hood in white is slim to none (and i think there is one locally here that is bronze)
so i was thinking of just painting it Matte black for the time being, as i have no money to have it done professionally. then getting some vinyl squares and making a checkerboard pattern with pin striping to get kind of a plaid look.

here is the chop i came up with.

Read about this yesterday. Sorry to hear. Billboard's hood turned out pretty well considering the time/effort/$$$ that went into it. I say go for it! Not my style, but if it fits you- do it!

hey i got a great idea, if you have an extra 600 bucks you can get rid of that hood and get some Carbon fiber  seriously i would just do some high gloss black.

That's what I did for when I fixed all the rust on my rear hatch. I used a caution-stripe pattern, but the concept is the same: turn damage into distinctive design.

I loved my design. Kids would actually copy it when they drew the car.

so i played around with the front end today, and got everything back into place, its even better then it was before, strangely

the hood only looks bent to the trained eye, my sister still cant see where it was hit

looks like i will be keeping this hood after all, and just having it repaired over the summer professionally. nothing a hood bra cant conceal for the time being

lol, reality can be a bit boring sometimes, would like to have seen it done up like his original idea.
