Socalwagon's 91 civic

hey everyone!!

well i got my wagon a little over a month ago, i know there is post in the New member thread, but i got big plans for my wagon, that i must say i LOVE it so far!!

Overview
91 civic wagon (white)
D15
5speed
Ebay coilover sleeves (need to get rid of these)
Hart racing 15" white sexy rims :)
Sweet 4wd mud flaps
All stock otherwise

So far i have taken this civic on a roadtrip to norcal. it died on the highway 80 with a blown ignition switch... took 2 days to finally track it down. next weekend took it off a cliff in silverado canyon.. (i do have a vid), drove it home after, had to get my jeep and pulling it out. Then went to Joshua Tree and had the time of my life ripping up the fire roads and doing some sweet E-brake slides... I think i need to raise it another inch before i do that again. HAHA. And now we come to today and i found that my muffler had more holes in it then some swiss cheeze so i just unbolted the muffler section, now i must say i never knew a 4cyl could sound so meaty... i mean i make EVO drivers look over on the freeway... I love it!!

Plans
D15B, or D16A6 swap
Si tranny with LSD
Koni's and ground control
BajaHID's
Turbo or N/A build... depending on $$
and enjoy every minute of it :)

well recently i have been having a couple small things go wrong, like the ignition switch, but thats no biggie. last week my drivers side Auto seat-belt stopped working sooo ahhhh i really liked the auto belts, now im growing to now like them so much! i have a feeling the clutch is going to, hey its my first manual....

alrighty well here are the pics!!

Well i need some help guys...

Well i started having problems with it a month ago on a trip around town it bogged for a quick second then came back alive.. no biggie. a couple days later it did it again.. turned off for 5 seconds had some trouble starting but fired right back up.. did that alot over the next couple days.. always when the engine is hot... never a problem when its cold. So i was driving back on the freeway one night and BAM stopped... i pulled over on the side, waited a bit nothing just cranks.. so i did the usal pulled the spark plugs.. check the fuel filter.. and changed the main relay nothing! so i got it towed home were it sits now.. over the last 3 weeks i have tinkering with it trying to find a problem or solution..the first thing i did was check for spark.. nothing. so i took the dizzy apart, and noticed the rotor had some play so i put everything back together.. and tried starting it. it took 3 tries but finally started right up! so i took it for a drive 5min into the drive it started puttering and cutting out so i turned around and headed home.. i had to keep the RPM full throttle to keep it running and it died a mile away from my house so i pushed it home. This time i was pissed, so i took everything apart the dizzy.. the grounds. the valve cover off nothing everything looked alright... well put it back together and nothing the battery was dead.. so in the process of the last week i have bought new spark plugs.. new grounds... tired a new battery.. the ECU blinks once when first on so im guessing no codes?? the Fuel filter prime's and there is fuel pressure. i bought a new rotor for it and ignition coil. I installed it all and tried starting it.. it caught and fired but died within 2 secs... tried again and fired and died immediately.. so now im stumped.. im pissed and i really need my wagon to work cause i need to give my loaner car back.. PLZ if anyone has any info or help on this i would greatly appreciate it..

YAY! it finally runs again. Im so happy to have my civic back :) OH and BTW vote for the JULY WOTM!!!
  • dude, what was the issue? sounded like main relay weirdness, but then sounds like it got a little weirder with the battery being dead etc...
  • i had that problem with my EF si and it ended up being distributor and plug wires.

Sorry about the late reply but it was a bad ignition coil... i bought a brand new dizzy from vato-zone 2 months earlier and the guy swore it wasn't a reman.. what a joke that place is  but its all gravy it runs so im happy :)

    UPDATE

Soooo.. a week ago i ended up smashing my front left wheel on a curb on a on-ramp doing about 35 and messed it up a little it was still drivable but very sketchy. It took a chunk off the rim and now has a section sticking out of it to.

I have been thinking of what to do about it and decided it was time to get a replacement or maybe even 4!! well i was looking for some cheap ass steelies to run and possibly track and just not really care about them you know... but i found something better!

A nice set of 4 Miata wheels (no steelies) wrapped in Falken ZIEX's with pretty much all the tread left (90%) on craigslist for dirt cheap so i just picked them up and im stoked! check em out!

    840.jpg

Now i have the task of getting my old wheel nuts off without my lug key cause some how it vanished.. :( oh well just another fun thing to do!

you might want to check out a tire and rim shop for a key.i went to one here in nor cal when i lost mine.brought my car in.asked
one of the mechanics if they had keys.they had about 30 in a box.sold it to me for $6 or $7 with a receipt.

Yea they have held up way more then i thaught they would lol.. for the time being i am going to keep the harts in the garage.. i kind of what to keep them, but at the same time i really want something easier to clean like some Rota slipstreams or comparable cause these harts are a killer every week with the cleaning! but they look so good when there perfectly clean!

But i might find another one to replace the damaged one... i didnt think about repairing lol how much $$ is that?? if not i will sell them... or trade. idk yet :(

I love miatas! So light weight! they are ridiculously awesome when it comes to handling. The wheels are super light for being stock too, 15~pounds a piece. I want to see some pictures of them mounted for sure!

Ouch! That poor wheel. Post pics when you get those miatas on, they're a dime a dozen around here
