Okay, heres my 89 wagon, her name is undecided.

Okay, This is what I set out three months ago to find. She needs a little TLC but is rock solid to say the least.
I just wanted to say I'm really glad to be apart of this forum, its already been a lot of fun. I hope to get in on some meets once I mod it a little. Right now I am motor hunting, doing body work, and then taking it from there.

  • I would like to add that I want to throw up everytime I work in my garage. I have nothing to do with anything in it except the car. Its disgusting and embarassing.

Nice find :) . Like the color too . Engine swaps are fairly straight foward with wagons , so you should be ok there . Just depends how far your willing to drive for an engine . You looking to stay with the D15B or go to D16A6 ?

Well I'm working on a d16z6 but I want to see it run first. Comes with almost everything I need for an auto to manny conversion too. This is the first automatic car I've ever owned and it makes me uncomfortable.
  • Welcome.

Dropped the motor today. Suprisingly easy! I'm scared of putting a new motor in w/ a stick tranny. I think this could be the foreshadowing of lots of speedbumps :S

I found a hole in the back of the block today too. wow.

Got the motor completely pulled today. Started gutting the engine bay. :D

    whaat the...........!!!

those are some large "holes" in the engine. Did someone shoot it with a 44 magnum?

Nope. I was just cranking it over in my driveway and she siezed. Prior to this I had dropped some ATF down the cylanders to eat some carbon off the rings and free it up, maybe stop burning so much oil then. I don't know if she hydrolocked or what, but when I was clearing the cylanders, it just stopped cranking. Rod must have dropped and wedged the piston where it was. It was a frightening experience but better in my driveway than on the Interstate. lol. I don't care much I wanted to swap her anyway. :)
  • yay a wisconsinite!
