Free wagon. No rust. Runs well. Could it be true?
89Wagon
Band Wagon
Yep!
Grabbed this off a guy I used to work with because a "mechanic" he took it to told him he had only about 100 miles left to drive it due to a rod knock. I got it for free because he couldn't park it on the street in front of his apartment complex and the registration was running out.
You have to love freebies.
Anyways, I drove it home and it definitely had something hurting the engine. After a couple days of it sitting, I finally got some time to look into it. Cleaned the horrible looking spark plugs, cleaned the wire boots, replaced the valve cover gasket and changed the oil.
The car now runs like a top. Idles great, actually goes when I step on the gas now. Sounds good and has no audible knock, at all.
So, I threw on a set of no name coil-overs that came on a 2nd gen CRX we picked up for a race car build. I still need to pick up some after market or stock 90-91 rear LCAs to drop the back a bit more.
I will also be throwing on either the old school CRX dials from a first gen CRX or the 2nd gen CRX si wheels. I'm also going to put the mint CRX Si front seats and probably just have the rear seats reupholstered to match.
Eventually, I'll do an auto to manual swap but that will probably go along with an engine swap and isn't a necessity at this point.
Some pics for viewing:
As I got it
The only real dent on the entire car
After a free weekend from the kids and wife:
With the Phonedials on (and tires that didn't want to hold air):
Plans for paint are stock respray with black roof and hood. Probably flat black. Eventually, this will be a track capable ride, but for the time being it's just some stress therapy.
Thanks.

Damn, you have both sets of wheels I have...I can't decide on the phonedials or the Si wheels. Problem with my Si wheels is I don't have the center caps for them. And, I have a feeling the Phonedials will be coveted pretty soon. Just a gut feeling.
I saw on a Fit forum some guy said he would pay like $500 for them with shitty tires. Decisions, decisions...
Thanks for the kind words from the rest of you.
If you look hard enough, you'll find these deals.
I don't know about you, but all the bj's I get are free...not all my cars are. Especially when they're in running condition with no rust.
So are you saying you give free bj's, or you get them!?!? LOL J/K
Ha ha...well, I wish I had read that out loud to myself before I posted it. Edited now to reflect what I meant to say. Thanks for calling me out.
I wasn't trying to be a dick or ruin your thread. It was just free wagon envy. LOL
please...
I think you have to do that b4 a BJ!!!...
I dunno...
you
: )
Amen.
You kidding? I can get a BJ for 20 right down the street from the shop!
Seriously, though, post it up for sale. Folks are always looking
Where are you located?
I've come to the conclusion that guys on this board are seriously hung up on bjs...lol
But, on a serious note...I can't post it in the classifieds yet as I don't have permission. I'm that much of a newb on this forum.
As soon as I can, I will though.
Where are you located.
